Would have loved to hear someone ask Butch to contrast his feelings back in 2006 -- after getting a chance to coach the Washington Capitals and then, two years after being fired, finding himself coaching in junior hockey -- with how he feels tonight. Cassidy paid his dues during his 27 year coaching career. He went from the depths to the pinnacle. Good for him.

I’m so glad they asked about Patera and his contributions and how the whole team effort matters because he only started 2 games for us, went 2-0, and wouldn’t you know it, we won the west in points by 1 game over Edmonton. If it wasn’t for him we would’ve been a road team in that series, which I feel would have drastically changed the momentum flow of the series. Vegas home crowd is insane. I just hope we can get a second cup in a row or in the next 2 years

Congratulations, enjoy every precious moment! It’s the hardest trophy to win….and the big reward is you get to celebrate and watch your players with the cup for 100 days.

I'm getting old. I remember Bruce Cassidy as a high-scoring D for the Ottawa 67s. So happy for him. He's winner at every level.

Wait Im pretty sure this is history right here. Correct me if im wrong but I think this is the fastest expansion team to cup champion in NHL history (Boston back in the original six days may have done it faster but definatley since 67 I want to say Vegas is the fastest either that or NYI)

the first true one yes.. Oilers did it in 5.. but they came in because of a Merger. also Marchessault is the first true undrafted player ever to win Conn Smythe. because everyone before came in because of a merger.. and they couldn't be drafted.
