Two Iron Maiden vocalists Bruce Dickinson & Paul Di’Anno have finally met this weekend… and there was actually a bit more to it that caught the eye.
So yeah, this Saturday, July 13 two Iron Maiden legends Paul Di’Anno, with whom the band recorded their first two studio albums and Bruce Dickinson, the guy who replaced Paul in Iron Maiden in September of 1981, have finally met together in Zagreb, Croatia… apparently for the very first time EVER!
The meeting happened after Bruce Dickinson’s show in support of his latest studio output The Mandrake Project at Zagreb’s Hala Zagreb, where Bruce and his band played 15 songs from his solo catalogue… and right before Paul Di’Anno was about to do exactly the same thing, as his solo concert at Zagreb’s Bikers Beer Factory was scheduled right after the end of Bruce’s show… which now I wonder how many Iron Maiden fans treated themselves to both… and why on earth noone thought about booking a Blaze Bayley show in Zagreb that same day, when he was literally just a couple of hours of drive away with a concert in Leoban, Austria that night.

I've alway thought Killers just sounded like a bunch of songs not good enough to make the first album, a bunch of B-sides if you will. The title track and Wrathchild being notricable exceptions. Overall, Killers is my 2nd least favorite Maiden album. The first album, however, is one my top 5.

I absolutely love the fact that the 2 of them got together and had a nice conversation. Both of these vocalists are remarkable singers and both have made Iron Maiden the Classic metal band that they have been since day 1. God Bless them both.

WAY back in the 90s I read an interview with Paul where he said something along the line of "I'm a much better singer now than I was then, but Bruce has always been a better fit for Maiden". Didn't seem to be any animosity then either. :)

I worked with a guy back in the mid 80's who was a roadie for Maiden in the Early 80's. In 86 and again in 2001 he got me backstage passes and he said Once you are part of the Maiden family will Always be in the family. I remember in 2001 he was telling me how he traveled Europe going to all the Maiden shows while he traveled with the band.

Bruce has said in the past that Paul sent him a message when he was diagnosed with Cancer, as Paul is also a survivor. This was when he asked by an interviewer if he’d seen a video of Paul telling his audience to send good vibes to Bruce. As for them meeting back in the early days, as I understand it Paul was very insular and would isolate himself a bit before and after shows, so it’s possible that that he and Bruce wouldn’t have actually met back then.

I don't see why this is so exciting for some fans. Di'Anno has said all sorts of nasty things about Dickinson on stage over the years & I get the feeling Bruce agreed to meet Paul out of politeness. Wouldn't be surprised if he put the CD in the bin. And no, Maiden would never get him to participate in a 50th anniversary concert. He doesn't remember the words to the songs from the first 2 albums & just tells along incoherently. Maiden is a slick, professional operation that Paul Di'Anno doesn't fit into.

Craziest weekend ever... day before Bruce Dickinson in Hala, in Hard Place in Zagreb was tribute band to Iron Maiden (Rainmaker). Day after, Bruce Dickinson and Paul Di'Anno... it was so fucking awesome! I met Mistheria in Bikers Beer Factory when they came to see Di'Anno... ahhh, so great. I love that I'm metalhead!❤

I'm really not a fan of the Blaze records, but just imagine how epic it would be if the guys got together with Paul, Bruce, and Blaze on vocals to sing the song Iron Maiden. When Runrig called it a day they invited Donnie Monroe to sing with them. Helloween recently toured with Kai Hansen, Andi Deris and Michael Kiske. Anything is possible when old grudges and animosities are put aside. Having a tour (or even just a few special events in London) with Bruce, Blaze and Paul together would be truly awesome!

that was pretty cool but I don’t think there’ll be any kind of showcase of all the living Maiden family members. Aside from the Somewhere Back in Time tour, Steve has always said that Maiden always moves forward. Members have done benefits and side projects. So personally while it would be cool, I wouldn’t be upset if they never did anything including any past legacy members.

When Paul Di'anno was last in Australia he stuffed up and cancelled several dates putting it all down to his breathing. I've seen him twice and wouldn't waste another dollar to see him again if he was going to do just 3 songs. If he can't do a full set stop wasting our time.

I love both these guys. Their names are both synonymous with Heavy Metal! True legends! Steve Hopgood was an excellent guitar player for Paul when he did Battle Zone and later Killers. Di'Anno is every bit better solo than he was with Maiden. Just sayin'

I don't ever recall hearing Bruce say he hated/disliked Paul, but I've heard Paul talk shit about Bruce multiple times, including saying Bruce was gay. Respect them both however.

Remember, Paul was often drunk, and fans loved to tease him, and shouted Bruce Dickinson at his shows. And also misunderstandings. At one show, Paul had a very low mic-stand, and he was about to adjust it higher. A stupid russian shouted Bruce Dickinson, to as if Bruce is the midget that would fit that low mic-stand. Of course Paul didn't hear nor connect the joke, because of all the noise in the bar, and literally almost attacked this stupid russian with all kinds of cunt words, even cunting Bruce's name, because of this idiot of an fan. Because in Paul's head, all he heard was the name Bruce. Could've been here that he said Bruce is gay, and an opera singer, imitating and doing the line "Run to The Hills". Then he continued counting up quickly to his next song in the set at the same time doing the cut-your-throat-finger towards the fan. 😂
