Met Bruce 3 years ago at Indigo bookstore in Toronto, Ontario. A surreal moment that lasted less than 5 seconds. Managed to tell him that “ your music speaks to my soul my brother.” To which he said “thank you very much.” My left arm tightly around his back and his right arm around mine while we took a picture. together. One of the best moments of my entire life. Bruce became my brother in the early 80s when I finally discovered him.

oh man ... you've been so lucky ... intense moments ... you've known an artist for years ... and when you're lucky enough to meet him ... you can only be there for a few seconds, because he doesn't know you ... and maybe like me, of different nationalities and languages, things would get even more difficult ... Thanks for your story: exciting for me that I'm so far;)

Gritty, honest, spiritual, transparently beautiful. The film is stunning. The album should win a Grammy! This has been on constant replay since we saw the film last week.

Bruce is a saint, his music is holy. No other way to describe it. The original song on the album just broke me when I heard it the first time. I could do nothing but cry, which was good 'cause I had a hundred reason to do so but... I was too tired to find any tears. Still this song always shatters me (in a good healing way) and calms me down at the same time no matter what.

this song is such a sweet and well written work of art. he's an incredible story teller. the imagery is perfect. "Your hair flashing in the blue [sky] just like wild horses" and you have the wild horse on the album cover with its mane and tail flashing in the big Montana sky for reference. Brilliant.

I agree. I like this (film) album better than the original. I love Bruce's more "talking" voice, and it's less produced sound.

Have been happily sharing Western Stars with my clientele at a little pub in South Australia, and we hope the musicians involved enjoyed making it half as much as we enjoyed listening to it. For what it’s worth, our favourite is Tucson Train, but like your own children, it’s hard to pick a favourite;).
