This song came on the radio this morning as I drove through Starbucks. The guy at the server window smiled and started bobbing his head to the music and said, "Bruce!". He couldn't have been more than 22 years old. That's when you know you're timeless: you have staying power from someone like me at age 65, and from someone in their 20's. 😊

My son is 22. We've talked about how a lot of 80's music is still relevant today. Even his friends have said "Yeah I know who they are. They're legends." In reference to people like Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Kiss just to name a few. I think that's pretty dang cool 😎

Went to my 50th high school reunion last week. I put my athletic accomplishments behind me a long time ago. I can't believe how many people remembered those things I did in high school. It made me think about those days since then. I found out that one of my records in track was broken recently. Didn't know I held it for 48 years. I guess I can be proud of what I did now. Seems everyone else was.

You must have been a real "mover-n-shaker" (or held a very high seat at the "Cool-People'sTable" during lunch hour) in high school if so many people remembered you and your accomplishments so many years later. Me? I got booed at my ten year reunion....After coming up on stage, or in front of everyone to accept some prize I won. (No shit--I had no idea I was that unpopular... Will never go back to another one....Reunion, that is).....Though restraining orders have kept me away from, like "Booger,"** combing high schools for girlfriends....I especially liked "hunting" for girlfriends at the private all girl Catholic schools, even though I went to a public school--the uniforms those girls wore got me more "hot-n-bothered" than the cheerleading outfits that the girls at my school wore---except when they did those kicks, and twirled around so their skirts gave me a quick look at their little red "Victoria's Secrets" they wore. Unfortunately "Mercy High School in San Francisco has closed 😭😭😭 **Must see, or be familiar with, an early 80's movie called Revenge Of The Nerds to get this reference .

What matters is who you are now. Anyone can have a good start, but very few have a great finish. I was a likable young man, but nothing exceptional. Came to realize that the lives of most of my peers are very dull and with few real accomplishments. Stopped caring a long time ago. Now I am focused on serving others, as well as putting God first in everything I do.

Me? After watching AMC's Madmen, I WAS thinking maybe the late 50's to mid 60's would be the time to head back to---Just as long as I could go back white, and male, and Protestant, and educated, and rich, and heterosexual, and preferably in my mid 20's. But given what I know NOW, I could REALLY make like King Croesus thousands of years ago and Cassanova some time later, if I could be in my mid 20's in the late 1970's to early 1980's, and I wouldn't even HAVE to remember what team won what Super Bowl to be successful, or even when Bill Gates first made Microsoft stock available for public trading...Of course some of my "success" would be based on criminal behavior. But I would like to think I would be like Robin Hood and give SOME back to the poor.... But that might come much later, AFTER I'm done partying with "Hef" at the Mansion and banging more than one Playmate in the "Grotto".🤣🤣

+Lewis Cranston Films Steven Van Zandt- Frank Tagliani- Giovanni Henriksen, the show LILYHAMMER. What a marvelous actor, a bit comedic, but he played the part very well. Hard to believe he was with Bruce Springsteen's "E" Street Band back in the 1980s. Check out the song "Glory Days" by Bruce Springsteen. Steven- 30 years ago.

+PIlotrcm He's not a pirate, he's much more imposing: a pseudo-gypsy douchebag with faux, white-boy soul. ...and Italo-American, hollow-eyed leers when he blurts his stoogey schtick into Bruce's mike. But I love that Van Zandt for some reason, even if his crappy rhythm guitar was not anywhere in the final mix. Rave on, Stevie...

Bruce Springsteen never was a “singer” and since I found out he supports allowing men in women restrooms when little girls are in there I will never listen to his so called “music” again. He refused to play a concert in that state yet he traveled to Saudi Arabia where they cut womens noses off with razor blades and murder gay people and did a concert there. He’s absolutely disgusting! 😖

One of my best Glory Dayyyyyys, was a sweltering hot July 6 1985 Wembley stadium Bruce Springsteen concert the tickets cost £14:50. I skipped Work to go, It was the best gig I had ever been to, the band gave it everything there was to give... At Wembley Stadium my life changed forever. I didn't know what to expect and I only knew the Born In The USA album but this was my first stadium gig and at the age of 19 I had never witnessed anything like it and being surrounded by people who knew all the words to all these songs, I remember Bruce coming out singing one song, obviously later I knew it as Independence Day, then I was taken on a Rock'N'Roll journey for 4 hours that blew my mind, talk about glory daaaaays

From personal experience let me assure you we musicians are definitely Still rocking it out. It's just that nobody buys music anymore so record deals are harder to come by, picture this , everybody in the band is a humongous Rockstar sold millions of Records. But they can't get a deal nowadays because there's not enough money to go around. They're only giving out record deals to fine girls with fine asses. The computer has destroyed and I mean completely obliterated the backbone of the music industry. The musicians never really complain because they never really saw any of the money from record sales. That was the money that the record companies got. And that is the money that they would give out for record deals. I think that we're still going to have to wait a little while longer before we see real and I mean real music again

I was about 12 when this song came out. Didn't think too much about the lyrics - just thought it was a stomping good track. Remember dancing to it on my first real party. Now that I'm 43, I really get the bitter nostalgia element to it. How we all end up re-living our romanticised version of our past rather than our present, just as I'm doing with this song now.
