On a coil on plug set up the a big issue will be in the fact that the spark plug is a resistor. I don’t have anything against cleaning spark plugs but if you have an issue such as a misfire it’s very well possible that the resistance inside the spark plug is wrong due to age. Also, please use non-chlorinated brake cleaner for this . The reason spark plugs have internal resistance is to prevent emp’s causing electrical interference from field collapse of the secondary coil. Ignition coils are actually two sets of windings internally, a primary and a secondary.
