Burning scarecrow, what symbolism. Actually, this whole film is packed with it, for me ~ and I can recall my long life since my twenties in each wrinkle of Bruce's countenence - it's a noble face. It brings up memories of being younger and more innocent to the ways of the cold world we live in. With his music and poetry, we gauge our own lives by the images he brings us. Farewell to innocence, welcome home my aging Self.

One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and heard

People who gives a complete sense to principles and values makes this world a better place. Thanks for always remember this, old wise man The Boss!

I couldn't help but think of two things. First, this old guy is looking for his past, which includes family and friends he can visit, but for an unknown reason, can't stay. But while visiting, someone hands him a guitar and ... whoa ..... this ol' guy is pretty good. Surprisingly good. Really, really good. You can't tell a book by it's cover. Next, the song's title, although not the music, reminds me of one of my half-dozen favorite Springsteen songs, "Something in the Night," which is on his classic fourth album, "Darkness on Edge of Town." In that song the singer is vaguely, or explicitly, unhappy, but not sure why. Something is missing. Could be a girl, a job, a sense of community, or invisible game, anything. The singer, himself, may not know. What it is is irrelevant; it may be different for each of us. What's universal is the emotion and the realization that we all feel it; that we're all human, we're all chasing something in the night.

Beautiful video. The cinematography reminded me very much of Terrence Malick. And yet another great song from High Hopes. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but it's turned out to be one of the best albums he's ever made. I had been expecting some sort of grab bag album. It's far more than that however. A stunning piece of work.
