Nice review, Bruce. Don't forget that every Breitling gets Chronometer Certified, which is largely overlooked. As a brand, Breitling's quality is underrated imo.

I like the way the bracelet clasp folds,it gives a continuous look to the bracelet. No big clasp back like a Rolex or an Omega to get all scratched up. It’s a bold piece indeed

Great review. I picked up the blue dial (not the Ltd. ed.) back in May and absolutely love it!! The dial is amazing, the watch has a great wrist presence, and the bracelet is very comfortable!!

Man, I just love the "Chronomat." Like you, I am definitely a bracelet guy, and IMHO the "bullet bracelet," is one of the best on the market. The level of finishing, the wrist presence.......the "Chronomat," just ticks a lot of boxes for me, and overall, is one of my all-time favorite models. I have never been drawn to watches with lots of polished metal. That said, they look clean and bright in the light. And they present themselves well in photography, particularly natural light. The contrast the polishing creates draws the eye to the lines and motifs of the design. I am now a begrudging convert. I think this watch is visually satisfying and even alluring.

Really love the new Chronomat as well and would also prefer it over a Navitimer. It just too busy for my personal taste. You really emphasized the highlights of the watch imho - Breitling watches, especially this one, really have a great wrist presence. You can really spot a Breitling watch within a second. Same goes for the build and finishing quality. Breitling is really on the levels of Rolex and Omega. I own watches of all three brands and Breitling is mostly underrated when in comes to quality alone. Even their regular ETA movements are very well regulated. My Avenger II GMT from 2016 is still running more precise than my new Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Master Chronometer! Also their presentation and boxes are on a very high quality. Love their built in travel boxes when you buy a Breitling like my Avenger. I really like what Georges Kern did with the Brand (well okay besides the logo discussion...) after he left IWC. Yesterday I went to see the panda dial. Damn, what a watch, the silver sunburst reacted to light like no other I've seen. It fitted well on my 19cm wrist.

I guess I’m the only one here, but I don’t like the Rouleaux bracelet. Much prefer the Pilot bracelet. I don’t like that they use pins and sleeves on that bullet style bracelet instead of screws that the Pilot used. I loved the old Pilot bracelet look too. Nice review though.

There’s a lot of mirror finishes on the chronomat which means very visible micro scratches for most of us ..I’m not a huge fan of chronometers as I find them too busy . It’s still a nice watch but if I had to go chrono I would probably go speedmaster and save a real chunk of change ...very good review Bruce ..

Breitling upping it's game in the last few years. New Avenger Lineup, Chronomat, SOH. It's refreshing and I like the new vision the CEO has brought.

Tried this on yesterday... 15mm thick it doesn’t wear that tall and the B suits this watch much better than the wings very classy

I have the original B01 AB0110 version in all polished steel, Black dial version. I absolutely love it, and would never sell. I call it the ‘King of Bling’ of my collection - Big, Bold,Beautiful and Breitling! I love this new version too, but wouldn’t swap ever. Chronomats are so Cool 😎

To me , the Breitling Chronomat 42mm is the perfect chronograph available … and if you can get the ice blue with platinum bezel… it’s Damm perfect 👍

I think the design of this watch is so cool, but I think it's still a bit much for my 6.7 in wrist.

I am just an affordable watch collector. Most under $300. I have Jack Masson, Vostok, Casio( Edifice, G-Shock)Timex, Cadisen, Guinqin, Starking, Fossil, Diesel, a Tag Huer is probably the most expensive which was given as a present and Breitling Avenger is going to be my first grail watch. I am a pilot and it's what I have been looking at for awhile. My budget is not to have just one expensive, but many nice affordable watches for whatever I need that day. I have a total of 31 watches collected over 40 years( since I was small) and I am not into selling. I buy what I like and keep it in good condition, like my 4 sets of golf clubs

Thank you spot lighting a great watch from a brand that is often overlooked. I've found Breitling makes very high quality watches and bracelets that are perfection. Unfortunately the watch community often suffers from herd mentality. As to the price, the Breitling brand has taken a beating so you will find Breitling heavily discounted especially secondary and grey market. Still a historic brand bringing to market great watches.

Crazy that you can now buy this watch for around 5-6K (secondary market). In my opinion, that’s a deal if I’ve ever seen one. This watch might be my next purchase.

Wanted a navitimer for years now and after seeing the underside of that chrono hand and wobble of the B01, I am having some second thoughts....

I am interested in buying that Chronomat. I just want to ask if there is anyone that already owns it, how does ti perform with regards to the time keeping and power reserve? Is B01 calibre a reliable one? The reason I am asking is because I currently own a new Avenger and I am not happy at all with the daily deviations it gives me and the power reserve (it only stops working after 6-7 hours after I leave it, after 5 days of non-stop wearing). Any opinions are much appreciated.

I slowed it down to 0.25 speed and it really looks like the chrono hand has some flex in it! Like the tip is just catchin back up to the base. May be part of the reason it has such a pronounced stutter..... I don’t know lol I’m no expert

That is an alarmingly beautiful watch.

10:23 the underside of the chronograph seconds hand looks terrible as it is reflected off the minute hand. It looks like paint spray. Small unseen detail, but I wish they had cleaned it up or maybe painted both sides of the hand.

It is a beauty of bracelet. The only thing that worry me is the price and that it is might be too big for me 6,5 wrist.

I hated this when I saw pictures of it. It’s pretty great in person though. You really have to see a watch live to get a good feel for it.

I must say that if you can’t see the wobble without the video camera it’s not important because you won’t be filming your watch to tell the time. By the way your Omega is beautiful. I’d buy this watch before purchasing a Daytona simply because they don’t treat you like a surf making you beg for the watch having you wait three years to acquire it. You’ll also have the added benefit of a date function which is important to me and you’ll have enough left over to purchase an additional luxury timepiece for your collection. Love your channel other Bruce. Keep up the great work!

My favourite brand.

It not wobbling, it's the rolling shutter of the camera struggling with fast lateral movements. Similar to weird looking guitar strings when filmed in bright light conditions. Look at the macro shot around 11:00. The wobbling does not start before 11:05 where the red hand is vertical enough to showcase the rolling shutter of the camera.

@10:24 unfortunately shows some pretty annoying paint quality issue on the chronograph hand’s underside. Not that you would notice but for 8-9k$ this is annoying.

Looks cool very 90s which I dig .... messed with one at ad ... bezel was terrible . Whole thing just seemed a little unfinished ? Hate to say cheap .... bracelet is def the standout .

If the 15 min markers were the only polished part of the bezel I would give this watch a 10/10 I'm one those guys who likes to fly under the radar. And this watch in my eyes is an everyday type of a watch, I daily my DSOTM, my navitimer is a dress up/casual type of a watch so it's ok if it's a little shiny it's meant to standout a bit. But this new Chronomat is a definite daily type of watch it's not a jewel watch, to me. Breitling almost got it perfect w this watch.

Nice watch but that bracelet..for that price, nah. Bring back the Chronomat Evolution! Quality, style and class, all in one.
