Welcome to another watch review. In this video, we take a closer look of the big and bold Breitling Chronomat B01 42mm with the Panda dial (ref. AB0134101G1A1). The Chronomat holds a significant place in Breitling’s history. In this video we take a closer look of the 2020 Chronomat which features some interesting upgrades, such as the re-designed Roleaux bracelet.

I took a close look at the black eyed blue dial. Stunning piece. Walk into any room wearing that watch and you’ll get admiring looks. Very masculine piece and Breitling doing what they do best. But it’s such a heavy watch I couldn’t pull it off. Just too head heavy and high riding for my medium sized wrist. But it’s a beauty and so much more interesting than done to death Rolex reviews. Display case back is cool and the water resistance means it’s impervious to normal day to day wearing. Great piece.

Yes, my wife gave me exactly that one, the rose gold and steel with alligator strap. I was looking to update my old Aerospace and she decided I should have this instead. Thank you ... and to Breitling too. ;)

42mm in 2023 it is totally acceptable, most watch makers goes big ,42mm is ok. I do like the cooper dial ,looks so good. You forgot to mention if the bezel is functional

Breitling fan here, was very happy to see this watch released then I tried it on. I have a 16cm wrist and can say it's way too big for me. But it is very impressive and I have a older Chronomat cira 1996 on the earlier bullet bracelet. Very comfortable and is tough as nails.

Thanks for sharing. I'm drawn to the design however when I tried it on last week at the AD, it felt a bit too small, or at least on the smaller side. It defenitely wears smaller than one might think. (I have a 8 inch wrist.) Then again, I wear a DeepSea James Cameron with a 44mm diameter and +-18mm thickness so I guess I'm so used to wearing steel beast's that this kind of watch feel petit to me. But for anyone interested in this beauty I would suggest to definitely try it on before writing it off because of the size. It truly wears smaller.

I have a b01 Bentley , I love this watch. This is my first watch, choosing between a Rolex Submariner no date I settled on Breitling. I was lucky because the Breitling Bentley B01 42 mm had already been in the store for 40 minutes. When I put them on my hand, I didn't want anything else.The green dial is mesmerizing ... it's hard to take your eyes off the dial. This click sound when the chronogroph is pressed makes the moment special. During the week of using the watch, I noticed that my watch is in a hurry +2.5 seconds every day. I don’t know if I should be worried or if this is normal.

I'm torn between this and a Zenith El P, any advice? 7.5 inch wrist approx. Like the bling, Like the water resistance, just not sure about the size, Day to day usually wear Omega Seamaster 300 2018 version, but want a new chrono, something different from the Speedy.

I like the Zenith, and in my opinion it is much more wearble and suitable for daily use. However I think you should try both on before purchasing!

Not a huge fan of the watch but that bracelet is just fantastic... I wish more brands made bracelets like that.

Honestly I don't get the idea about it wearing big. The lug to lug is reasonable, and the bracelet drops straight from the case meaning there is zero overhang on smaller wrists. Also the 15mm sounds thick, but the midcase it self is pretty thin, and the width is made up from the caseback and bezel, so on the wrist it sits lower down than a slab sided say 13mm watch would. Amazingly tacticle watch, and the bracelet is stunning

why do you say it's "so" large? It's 42 mm... and lug to lug 50mm. I have a 170mm wrist and must say that it fits well. Other watches like the Omega Seamaster diver 300m or some Speedmasters are also 42 mm. Do you also consider them as very big watches?

Yes we do. For us and our 16.5cm it is too big. But thats our opinion and preference. Whatever floats your boat so to say

@@IFLWatches Hi im planning to buy the Brietling Chronomat(42 mm) with Rose Gold & Blue Dial & on side to side Comparision with the Breitling 44 Chronomat does it look too small as i have a 18 inch Wrist & Prefer Slightly Big Watch.Is it a Good Choice

Beautiful watch but too big and heavy for my watch. But that bracelet is fire and the case design makes the watch look slimmer than it actually is

Nope! But they just introduced one (not chronograph though) for ladies in 36mm. I think that one would suit us pretty well 😎

Es uno d los relojes mas bellos del mundo. Me compre un cronografo 13055 caja d oro. Y nunca funciono perfecto. De un dia pata otro se cayó el marcador d 15 minutos. Sin poder recuperar y lo q s pierde con esto.MUCHA PENA

look at the chronograph second-hand reflection on the hour hand 1:17 that's a poor finishing for an expensive watch, don't you think? 🙄

Of course it would be nice to see some better finish on it, however even more prestigous brands like Patek face the same issue

@@IFLWatches agree, one time I saw the same issue on a Patek 5960 chronograph but even so we "watches enthusiasts" should be the voice that helps to guide these brands for the better even Patek Philippe 🥰😇👍

No, I’d say its too large for a womans wrist. However they recently launched a 36mm Chronomat for women

Great review. But Breitling is just a mess as a brand. To each their own, but there’s just nothing to love about any of their newer models. Money better spent elsewhere.

How is it a mess?? They’re killing it in sales. Their b01 movement is one of the best in the market. They have the balls to come up with a lot of different styles and sizes. Their quality is top notch. Wtf you’re talking about?

@@ninomartini8081 couldn’t agree more with your Nino. I think Breitling has made a comeback lately. They were a bit lost, but have been crushing it for the last few years. They have a ways to go, but are definitely moving in the right direction. And most watch critics and bloggers agree.

As a watch collector I have many watches and owned/sold even more. I practically have had pretty much all high end brands there are. And can honestly say, not many watches compare to the durable quality of Breitlings. They are truly top of the deck when it comes to quality. Build like a tank, low maintenance and build to last. Maybe not the most sophisticated or subtle watches.... maybe not the most fancy movements or most famous name, maybe not the most classy style or grand allure, but if you want a super manly and reliable watch, not many brands will beat Breitling.

@@walkerb1734 thnx for the compliment, no problem :) . Although you probably not interested in buying a Breitling, if you ever decide you want to buy one, I would advise to look for a good second hand. As good as they are, unfortunately they do lose value the moment you walk out of the jewelery store when you pay retail price for a new one. Instead rather go for a good second hand considering the fact they last a life time, a good second hand Breitling is still super reliable and when you buy a good second hand and decide to sell it again you can probably sell it for about the same you bought it for. Win win.
