Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is located in the northwest of the country.
The Bell Tower, the belfry, (Belfort) was added to the market square around 1240, when Bruges was prospering as an important centre of the Flemish cloth industry. After a devastating fire in 1280, the tower was largely rebuilt. The city archives, however, were forever lost to the flames.

I followed school in Bruges and I have good memories on the belfry. It's absolutely a must to do for visitors. I also play carillon and played this bells for one time some years ago. Very nice instrument too.

After enjoying the movie "In Brugge" I had to climb those stairs. It was quite a challenge! You did a great job of video taping. Thanks!

Okayy, I know now that it is worth it so I'm adding the belfry tower to the things me and my siblings should do in our stop to brugges next year :)) Thank you and that was one great taping! I enjoyed and was like "oh wow, that is a quite serious going up!" :) Greetings from Peru!

Wow, excellent video! I felt myself getting out of breath watching the ascent!! I've been to Bruges many times. It's a beautiful city, and this video perfectly captures the atmosphere and experience of climbing up the Belfry. Thanks for posting it!

Excellent video. I've been to Bruges a few times, and this is a true representation. I, too, found myself out of breath watching you climb those stairs!
