I think the point being missed is a club like Villa & Newcastle that want to spend are DEBT FREE which is not being taken into consideration with the current rules and regulations. Clubs heavily in debt like Spurs & Man United which are only two of many are allowed to continue added to that debt and spending with no recourse. If the rules are there to stop clubs from being left in debt there should be something taking those levels into account before spending occurs. Pay off your debt before spending. Also, the current rules of 105 million loss per year have not changed since 2012 and even a layman is aware of inflation thus that value in 2024 is actually worth over 200 million yet has not budged in over a decade. As the rules stand, they are flawed and anti-competitive, especially for those outside the top 6.
