i remember being in 3rd grade. i was friends with this girl. let's call her kayleigh. she had a lot of anger issues and stuff but we just clicked. she'd throw scissors or even chairs at the annoying boys, but then she'd write me cards expressing how she loved being my friend the day after. we would always hang out and laugh together. one day the teacher announced a talent show coming up in the next few weeks. you get the idea- you could sing or dance, play an instrument or whatever you want. kayleigh? she sang this song. people made fun of her voice. but i sang along quietly in the crowd. kayleigh was upset when she came off stage. i told her, "next year." she didn't come to school next year. or the one after that. we had and still dont have a way of communicating. i hope she's doing well. sorry if this was dramatic.

You're not being dramatic. I had a full on breakdown when I listened to this song because my best friend just moved to a different province. We were best friends for 4 years and were very close. During quarantine, we lost communication and only texted each other a few times and facetimed once. When she said she was moving, I pretended to be happy for her and never showed my emotions. When she moved, I never thought it would affect me that much. But recently, I've realized how I dont have any friends and she was my only true friend and how much I miss her. We dont talk much. We only occasionally talk on a group chat the 2 of us are on. Losing a friend is a huge thing. It really hurts especially if you are going through other things too and you really need support. Just know that you aren't being dramatic and that your pain isn't being invalidated by others. Have a good day!

This song is so nostalgic for me. In third grade, I had two amazing friends. We never really played together outside of school. Heck, I don’t think we even went to each other’s birthday parties! But in class, we were inseparable. We sang this song together multiple times a day. Divya and Ava, if somehow you are reading this, I miss you. Omg I remember being a 14yo and literally obsessed with Bruno. ❤😣 He was one of the reasons why I started learning English. I used to have a notebook in which I would write all of his songs and memorize the lyrics then translate it to portuguese. So many memories this upload brought me.
