I noticed that someone below leaves cat hair outside so squirrels can use it for their nests. I save dryer lint, my hair (I cut my own), AND my cat's hair and leave all of it outdoors in the springtime so that birds can use the "harvest" for their nests.

I have a Nebelung, and she is almost as big as your Sasha. I love that others tend to their cats so well. I'd had an Australian Cattle Dog for 16 years, so a cat was a new experience 😊 ESPECIALLY a Nebelung - but, we brush everyday, and have treats (exactly 5) afterwards. She's learned to sit, shake and 'stand' all for getting brushed!! New subscriber!

Breathtaking beauty! So lovely & soooo much work. When breed researching my vet informed me i would have to brush daily or painful mats would form which get tighter & tighter all the time. They should only be cut out as brushing would be too painful. Uh, too much work for me. I rescued a short hair mix instead.

I see some of the BEST comments on this video! With that kind of shedding, you need to brush her at least 3 times a day! For severely matted areas, just use a scissors and cut it out - she won't like brushing those areas as it hurts (MEOUCH!!).

Hello there... Beautiful cat... the "molting" winter fur takes time to remove. It's great that you are doing it in short sessions. MY SUGGESTION: Try using your undercoat rake with a short plucking stroke (like plucking a violin), instead of the long, pulling strokes you used in this video. Pluck in one area for several strokes ... then move to another section. Gradually loosen the deeper dead hair at the skin level (taking care not to rake the skin by holding the rake tines parallel to the skin). This technique liberates more fur. Your Sasha is really good about being brushed, but the long strokes can pull on her skin too much because of the congested dead fur in her coat. You are a great pet parent. Many people don't botger to do this much needed grooming of their fur babies.

That's one fine feline you have there. This makes me miss my buddy "Vinnie" who I had for years. MC's have the very best dispositions and we're lucky that they let us live in "their" home. He's been gone now for almost two decades and isn't missed any less as time goes by. I'm retired and on the "downside" of my time here. Sounds morbid, I know, but it's just the way of things. I'll see my buddy soon enough...
