Brushless Buggy Upgrades!

Күн бұрынWhat's shakin' y'all?! It's time to add a few HP to the ol' Beach Buggy. But which one? Oh man, I can't choose!!! It boils down to the Tamiya Fire Dragon, Terra Scorcher and the Thunder Dragon. Each buggy is a beach bum and I have to say that all three could use a little more displacement under the hood.
We'll unbox the Horizon Firma 4000kV motor/esc combo with their cool SMART technology, explain what all that futuristic goodness is all aboot, then we have to make a choice... Which buggy to drop her into???

I’ve got a 3900kv goolrc setup in my manta ray and it’s close to too quick. It was $33 usd. I vote thunder dragon purely because it interests me more with the front mono shock being more unique.

Really looks premium, they should just included the programmer for additional $10 on the combo. Any of those awesome buggy will fly with this 👍🏻😁👍🏻

I agree, a program card would have been nice. Hopefully programming isn't too much of a pain. 👊

If you have to put it in a thunder shot chassis car, I would put it in the Terra scorcher. It’s the most upgraded, out of the box, than the other 2, and as such is the most premium. Also not available any longer, so worth putting something special in it.

Oh, speaking of the Gool setup, the one I got had the 3mm shaft. Yours was definitely some weird knockoff from what I can tell. I've already blown through a set of rear tires on my DT-02 with the 4300kv, it's so much fun to drive. I wound up throwing some front axles from a Stadium Blitzer on it, and I'm now running it as kind of a "monster buggy" with the larger tires. Anyway, would love to see the Thunder Dragon fly.

Yah I bet that set is nice and heavy. The 85 amps will have the throughput of electrons defiantly. I can’t wait to see it tear the sand up.

I was thinking the same thing. The packaging and accessories scream Hobbywing. But given my experience with Hobbywing, I can't say that's a bad thing.

@@GTMatukka I can't say that I ever expected much from a $20 esc. But from what I've seen, the cheap capacitor kit cures most of the problems. But it does suck to have to buy something else to make something work correctly. But for brushed setups, I'm more of a fan of the 1080.
