Another awesome kit sent to me by the RC Elf, I cannot thank him enough for the amazing support!! This is my first of the “Thunder’ series from Tamiya and I was not sure what to expect, turns out it drives and handles very nice! It was a fun kit to assemble and even more fun to drive, I was kind of shocked by the handling. The video was shot over the last two weeks due to all the other stuff going on but after this the videos should continue to come a little more regular and make sure you subscribe as there is a lot of cool stuff coming up very soon!

Awesome! The Elf does it again! That's one of the weird looking tamiya buggies they look cool in there own way. I like the fire dragon it's kind of similar in looks. It ran nice!

I smashed the bumper on my radio shack Black phantom (because it was cold outside) and I bought this bumper It's like a 99% perfect fit I GET TO SEE THE TRACK BEING BUILT

The RC Elf is definitely a LEGEND!! He's taken GOOD Care of me and my friends... and is now sending my Grandson a Grasshopper II!! WHEN I use Body Clips, I only use the big loop ones. My Old arthritic fingers don't like the little clips. 😞 That Buggy RIPS!!! 😎👍👍 Can't wait to build my Fire Dragon now! I'm no fan of that coat hanger either, but as long as it works. I do want to find CVDs for mine.

The Elf is truly amazing!!! That is cool he is sending your grandson a hopper, those are fun little buggies! I can still manage the little clips but I am beginning to understand that those big loop clips are a lot easier!! I do put a bend in the little ones a lot of the times when I use them just so the loop is easier to grab with my sausage fingers!! The center drive shaft seems pretty decent despite its puny size! I have had no issues but I sure if you went with a brushless system all that torque would twist it up! I think you can mod a TT02 driveshaft in there (not sure but I have seen other guys that have taken another cars driveshaft and replaced the thin one). ... I was already thinking about that Driveshaft. 🤔 Thinking maybe the MF-01X Shaft would work. But cutting down a TT-02 Driveshaft could also work if I can't find one. I've always said that the RC Elf is more than just free RC Kits... He has brought FRIENDS together! He got me the 8X4 Tipper Truck. I'm still shocked!! But I've met amazing People because of him.

I have just finished mine, and am running it at the weekend. I wanted one when I was a kid and they first come out so jumped on the preorder ;last year! I swapped the gearbox -> propshaft cups for HotShot Outdrives and added a TT-02 Aluminium driveshaft rather than use the coat hanger. I just needed to clearance a small section in the middle rib of the chassis. I also used Tamiya AW Grease in the diffs to give a bit of a Limited Slip Diff effect. I am looking to do CVs to mine and after a little bit of research you can get Bag B from the Terra scorcher for less than the cost of two pairs of (Tamiya) CV Driveshafts and it also has the hardware for the rear sway / anti roll bar, but not the bar it's self, so I'm going to do that upgrade soon. Other ideas include the BZ Motor, a steel or brass pinion, DF-03 Wheels and tyres for a staggered setup, and possibly Terra Scorcher shock towers to convert to Quad Shock with DF-03 / TT-02B Aluminium dampers. All of those when funds permit, and or if I feel it needs them after driving. I still have the stock silver can at the moment but am going to try the TBLM 10.5 Turn Motor (raided from my DF-03) when I have got used to it. I'm new to your channel and enjoyed this video so will be watching more and have subscribed from the UK Keep Safe :)

I keep telling myself I am going to pick one and do a bunch of upgrades to it and by the time I tally it all up I end up putting it off to get another kit I want... I do want to do an upgrade series but have not figured out for which platform yet. Your car sounds amazing and should be one heck of a beast when all finished!!!

Darn it! That’s a nice looking model and I like the front mono-shock, but I have the Fire Dragon and after watching your video, I want a Thunder Dragon and a Saint Dragon. I should stick with watching your current videos instead of looking at older ones.

LOL! It happens to all of us!!! I just got my Thunder Shot delivered yesterday which also has the single front shock on it. I just need to get out there and get to work on it! I still need to get the Terra Scorcher and then the Super Storm Dragon and I will have all the Shot family and the all of the Dragon family. I am working on it slowly but surely!

Had one of these back in the day.. great car always remember it drove awesome :) swapped it later for a Fox but should have kept it :) and bought a Fox also great ;)

They really do handle and drive great. I saw they announced the Thunder shot is being re-released this year so maybe one you want to be on the lookout for. They are going to sell out fast

Thanks for watching and for the kind words. The channel is still growing and I hope to see it get a lot bigger, time will tell. Up until this one most of the drivers have a look of terror in their eyes, so I still think I did this one wrong!!! There is more coming soon!!!

Hi Addam, the RC Elf has spread some more generosity again, what a great guy! You’ve a nice looking Dragon there, the interior doesn’t look too bad on camera. Definitely right going with the sports tuned straight away, matches the Dragons reputation. The body being pre-cut and pre-painted is a bonus. Great running too. Good work. This buggy is a proper looker. Love it. May have to keep an eye out for one of these. The Super Sabre is a real favourite of min too which is probably why I also like this. Both have a futuristic shell.

I really think it looks cool and once you get it in your hands it is so much better. I have noticed the price here has been creeping up on them lately, may be getting scarce...

@@AddamsPlayground apparently the cost of kits generally is rising. I believe it is due to shipping costs mostly. I had an email from a hobby shop about 6 weeks ago warning me of price increases.

They really are cool cars and it drives very well. I had avoided them for a while as I wasn't sure about the looks. Once I got it I fell in love with the look and how well it drives! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out!!!!

Yeah, I just wish they hadn't made it look so cheap looking. It looks almost toy grade or something with the generic case design. Works great, just looks really mehh.. Thanks for watching!

Yeah I noticed a step rise in price on them lately... Not sure why. I think with anything Tamiya at the moment who knows how long and how much stock will be there. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out!!

I have the Terra Scorcher, the e clips were a pain for that also, I even considered one of the Tamiya e clip tools, but every other e clip I have used since then has gone on without issue using the needle nose pliers, I also built it with the metal A5 piece, but I have upgraded most the front end to metal now as I drive it hard, and it has a BZ in it. One thing to consider is the wheels on the front could be a touch more narrow, so I am going to experiment with that. Top kit, breakdown and video, well done all round 😁👍

Looks great! I just got mine and will start it this week. I like this one the best out of the Dragons. Maybe they'll have something new on this chassis.

I was a little concerned going into it as I have not built one like this yet but it was really easy and not issues other than those e-clips so just take care with those! Not having to cut those lone straight lines in the body was a real bonus. Painting it would not have been too hard but getting those perfect lines would have been tedious! Good luck with the build and you are gonna love driving it!

Addam hope you are well? This buggy is such a great design. I think it is one of Tamiyas best. You did a awesome job as always. Those C clips buckling is strange though… never had that before but always worried they would when clamping them down! Great video as always 🙌🏻

I am fine now, just so much to do for my daughters wedding in the handful of weeks/days leading up to it I was just worn out!! All is good now, she is happily married and I am happily able to spend time back out in the garage with tiny cars and trucks! The issue with those clips was very strange so that is why I mentioned it, I thought it was just me being too heavy handed on the first one but then the second I was very careful with and it bent in the very same way. You do get an extras in the kit and I also had an extra from previous builds so it was all good. Thanks for watching!

I will probably end up taking it back out and redoing the body. Just not too happy with the results I got. Didn't help I was kind of rushing it

I want to say it did. I cannot remember as there have been a number or of pre-painted kits between now and then. Some have had the film still one and some have not. I believe the other older of the kits had film on and the new kits have shown up with the film removed already.

Yeah, they certainly have unique styling! Wasn't a fan of them growing up but I really like them now... Except maybe for the Saint Dragon... Still not a big fan of that but I have never seen one in person
