Godflesh was the reason that I worked my butt off and bought a guitar and a drum machine back in the 80's!!!

I love the fact that Godflesh has this huge sound with just a Marshall half stack and a bass amp, no need for stacking up 8 Sunn amps and being a douche about it.

true. you just mic their cabs to the PA. done.

a Doom metal band i won't name played this club that holds about 200 people, they had three ampeg 8x10's and a mesa boogie full stack with three tube amp heads just for the bass!, the guitar player used two whole marshall stacks and a 18"subwoofer, they both had giant piles of effects peddles, and they sounded like absolute garbage, they were not bad but it was just rumbling noise,it took them a half hour to set up, you couldn't even hear the drummer, the next band playing the same style(ish) had a Traynor half stack and a Orange half stack with what looked like one Boss overdrive peddle, walked on, plugged in, just started playing and sounded amazing.

oh wow. How do they put up with the lifting they got to do every night they tour? 3 cabs/amps just for the bass? Seems like they are trying to make the bass sound in stereo instead of the guitar. That's odd. Bass doesn't need stereo because it's usually the loudest thing on stage anyway. A good bass head can drown a drummer. hmm. I dunno. Sometimes doom guitarists will use bass heads for the natural fuzztorion with their neck pickup. But if they actually played as you described, that sounds ostentatious on their part to put it politely lol. interesting.

you should look up Juicifer Live, they stack the entire stage in over dozens of amps, pointless.

that bassist is part of the progeny of industrial music, GODFLESH were known as the godfathers of industrial. Justin was at one point the drummer for Napalm Death. That bassist also after Godflesh went hiatus worked as a constable on the police force. Compared to American acts ( there are some exceptions mind you), English artist are very reknown for having the knack for keeping themselves occupied. Justin ahs done continuous side projects from drum n bass to breakbeat to remixes.

Alex Williams - Justin was the guitarist and occasional backing vocals in Napalm Death. He played drums for Head of David between leaving Napalm and forming Godflesh.
Lmao I thought you was just typing what you could hear him shout, turns out you're speaking a different language

@@revivedfears I don't think so, their industrial metal peak was in Self titled Ep and Streetcleaner and Pure

@@ilyas_elouchihi that's a fair enough statement but that record is still pure industrial metal, there's no other way to describe it. 😂
