How much does Harvard cost and what do you major in? I want to go to an Ivy League but I don’t think I can, plus I’m trying to go into forensic pathology so idk if it’s worth it anyways

@@TobithepurpleduccI wanted to be a forensic pathologist at school. For me at the time, it seemed cool and easy with my character. My mother had doubts about my choice and asked her friend patholojist to take me with him to the morgue. It took me three times to go there and stand there for hours while the pathologists worked on the bodies and told me how the person had died. For the first time, everything seemed romantic to me. I came home with the pleasant impression that I was not nauseous, scared or disgusted at all. For the second time I wasn't as interested as the first time. Pathologists worked on the bodies in the same way as they did last time. For the third time, I finally thought about the identity of those people who are already lying on the table, not as a person, but as a body. And at that moment, I realized that having rejected all this romance of crime series, this work is about forgetting your empathy. I've always helped animals and people in need, so it was very difficult for me to forget that it was a living person and just do my job. A friend of my mother's told me that if you couldn't distinguish between this work and empathy, you'd just go crazy and drink like many of his colleagues, even though they hide it. I didn't give up on medicine, but I realized that it is worth thinking a thousand times about your character realistically, looking inside yourself. Now I'm an epidemiologist. Edit: sorry for my English, please

I've graduated from my university here in Finland some years ago, I have an interesting and challenging career, but the students years were somehow very special and I occasionally miss them. To make myself feel better, I watch videos like these about universities, grab a book on my field and go to read it in the local library to better serve my clients. Serious deep-dive studying still gives me a pleasure and I guess it has it's perks to already have been graduated - no stress over exams and papers! @meiyosei78
@meiyosei78 5 ай бұрын
I don't know if it'll help you, but what helps me to get rid of distraction is by being hard on myself (for the lack of better words). If I have to study or get some things done, I'd do anything I can to block any source of 'dophamine inducer'. Put your phone on airplane mode and only turn on wifi/internet data if necessary, use site/app locker so you can't access anything else other than the necessary one/s. Remember don't reward yourself too early and too much. Self reward is good, but only do it after you get the big/important thing done and never over spoil yourself because it may make you lazy to do the next task. Definitely don't reward yourself before you get it done

Is it normal to be so put together at 18?! Because if it were me, I would’ve gone into a panic attack for not being able to sleep and not having 100% attention, and the rest of the day would be me trying to move on from that panic attack and convincing myself I got this 😅

@@Temperius High school is more tedious than college but the material is not difficult. College is the opposite. My experience was dense material (few questions) but they take hours per question. It also depends what field you’re going to. Like I said I do physics so my problems are meant to be longer hence why I’ll have less problems but the same work if not more as any other degree. If you’re also doing research and extracurricular activities like managing a club then that’s something to also consider. University gives you far more freedom than high school ever could to develop real skills. Make sure you maximize your time don’t fall into the “have fun in your 20s” bs. @@user-qp5uf5hj1q I think the biggest issue that people might point out is that it's obviously exaggerated and therefore feels insincere ("fake"). She calls the video "BRUTALLY REALISTIC" - nothing here is realistic. 4 hours of "studying", of which 1-2 hours were wasted for setting up, filming, taking videos of the library, drawing cute notes etc. Or "getting ready" at 5 a.m. with the effort of making a whole make-up tutorial video... And she has enough time to edit everything and post it on 3 different social media platforms + reply to comments. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that she has free time to do this, but it's obvious that not everything is true here. I'm personally not a fan of people who don't work smart. She doesn't have to be sleep deprived if she could manage her time better. But if social media is your job, I guess you don't have a choice. Anyways, this is certainly not your regular Harvard student life and people aren't stupid to not notice it. Just to make it clear, I just provided a possible explanation to why people might not be "supportive". I personally don't care and have no idea who that even is, but I think it's OK to call out "fake" content, it doesn't happen enough imo. Doesn't have anything to do with jealousy or toxicity. The first step is to drop social media if you want to be successful/happy.

There is very little impact to no impact so you go into so much debt for nothing. You will get the same results going to a good community college for way cheaper. Also Harvard has the lowest rating of freedom of speech as of this year found by American Legislative Exchange Council while investigating the past president (she “resigned” because she was found guilty of several plagiarisms as well as not protecting Jew students and allowing other students to protest that they should all die on campus because of the Israel and Palestinian stuff going on as well as creating a black only dorm and white dorm segregating students by skin).
