@@Peatingtune Very few and I mean very few things are so absolute. There where plenty of happy and miserable people behind all fences. Things have only gotten more accessible to see now, but thats lead to envy, vanity and all the rest of the scum exploding. Without anything decent to contribute besides some self absorbed ideology. Sure there may of been more of one but that lead into more freedoms as well as disparity not being so black and white. which it never really was, cause there always turncoats. And whats this day and age like. Terrorist, criminals, Insane, Liars, manipulators, Groomers. Pretentious actors. Billions being thrown at vanity entertainment All Exploding and no monitoring at a higher level happening. All to feed greed. 80's where better because it was simpler and lines where drawn, and it lead to the people or youths breaking away from shackles. Rewriting with a purpose, ,having a dreams through hard work, failures and eventually success. Creating so many masterpieces that are just knock off copies and corporate imitation attempts to recreate the stuff of legends, but failing or corrupting it like cancer. Now we just got over bloated pigs in body mind and the spirit is slowly vanishing .. Soon a computer will replace most jobs or manipulate the game so they don't need the rest of the cattle & sheep. Then you see a scary dark age

If your formative years were spent growing up in the 80's like mine were (I graduated High School in 1984 @ 17 years old) then you lived in the greatest decade ever. There will never be another time like the 80's. I would have hated being born later and missing it. 56 now and all I think about are those days and how positive they were and how Pop Culture was incredible.

Born in the early 70's and raised in the 80's. My parents always said, "this is the best time of your life" and they were right but I feel bad for my kids because I can't tell them that. I'm 50 and I truly believe mine was the last generation where kids could just be kids.

Been thinking I need to tell my kids (in their early 20s) live in the moment, yeah you're young and broke and making your way, but looking forward all the time is a great way to miss your youth and what you ALREADY have ... Before you know it you're 60. "Your Life is Now" . (John Mellencamp)

One of my favorite movies growing up. This one seemed more relatable. Less silly. Great soundtrack. John Hughes was great with the teen themes. God bless. Even though I struggled with my teen years in the 80s, I loved the music. I miss being young, and having that excitement with life. Having boyfriends. There's few things more exciting than getting ready for a date when you're young. I guess now in my 50s, I will try to get excited over other things. I'm not dead yet. Lol. However, my teen years are still fresh in my mind. Love you Mom. ❤

Just sitting here thinking how much I probably sound like my parents saying "today's music sucks, listen to this stuff from my younger days..." but when it actually holds true, and someone new comes along, freshens up that iconic sound and breathes new life into old musical tropes and trends, you get Retrowave, and a bunch of kids listening to this thinking "I wish I got to grow up in the 80's." I was born in '84 and love these synth sounds of the 80's making a return.

The song lyrics mean so much. It's important to reflect on what is being said. Sounds like the writer has to leave because his dreams are too big for his girl, and she couldn't or didn't want to come along. As much as I'd love to agree with this sentiment, being someone who has really started to shine in many aspects of my life, from finance, careers and... romance. I would like to emphasize that the most important things in life are the people we live our lives with. And don't take my word for it, because it is the wise words from the dying. Don't let your selfishness overcome what matters most in life, even if it doesn't seem like it now, but some day when it's all over, and you've come back from the adventures of life, who will be there to say, "welcome home?"
