Bryan- I own a small fleet of L322 Rovers that I rent out on Maui. I could not of attempted to fix my blown head gasket without your super helpful video. I really appreciate the time you took to put this all together and sharing your professional skillset. Thats amazing man! If you are ever in Maui please reach out and I would like to thank you with a free Range Rover rental to cruise the islands and beaches. I am stuck on one issue which is where to get the pulley removal tool to remove the harmonic balancer

Bryan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF it weren't for your vids on this, I don't think I would have tackled this job on my 06 4.2 Range Rover!!!!!!!! Thank you SOOOOOOOOO much for this. I just finished the job and other than a fuel injector connector tab that broke when taking it off, Soldered in a new connector by taking the valve cover back off to get the room to get to it instead of taking the supercharger back off again, it all went great!!!!!!!! It's running perfectly smooth. One thing I would suggest is the you put ALL the chains on, the draw up the slack on the main one before tightening down the intake cam sprocket. Then do the exhaust one. That way when you go to install the main chain, you will have already taken out the slack. Mine runs so smooth now, it's better than before I tore it all down for a minor head gasket leak putting combustion chamber pressure in the coolant chamber. Minor bubbles in the coolant reservoir. Thanks again SOOO MUCH for this. You saved me thousands of dollars!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks so much better after you cleaned it up! Now that you're putting it back together and I see all the work you're putting into it I'm thinking perhaps it should go to your wife. Bryan, I knew this before this series but I have to say you're the real deal. Thanks for letting amateurs like me look over your shoulder.

Note: too anyone reading comments-🤔 install driver side exhaust manifold on Cam head before proceeding too install driver side head. Will save 3 hrs. He said it, but didn't emphasize it enough. At the end and beginning of next video.🧐

That one is a lot of work. I've been turning down most of the European cars lately. To much hassle. And most of the people that own them don't want to spend much money.

Great video, thanks for the detail. Did you replace the tensioners and or chains? Any other parts you used or recommend other than gasket's and good tools? Approximately how many hours where you into it? Cheers!

I really wanted to see a video on how you prepped the block and what you did with the cylinder heads, but great instructional video nonetheless.

My final head bolt torque only ended up at about 40FT Lbs. Does that sound about right? I kept raising the torque wrench until it didn't click, but started to turn the bolts after the full sequence. Then backed it off 2 Lbs to get the click and ended up around 40 Ft Lbs. So I've moved on to the Cam Tool. It allows the cams to move about 1 tooth because it doesn't tighten all the way on the cam when the ends are against the head. I may have to shave them down until it all fits snug?

Was there any signs of concern for internal damage of the heads or cylinders ? My head gaskets were not as bad looking. But, the machine shop said the heads could be warped +$300 per head too fix and more if the cylinders are damaged. Should I be worried about further damage up to this point?

Have you done the timing chain job on this year Range Rover? Since I’ve got to replace the supercharger snout I figured I could just keep going and do a timing chain. How would you rate the degree of difficulty of the timing chain job compared to a supercharger snout replacement?

Your chains should never go bad. It's the chain guides that are of concern. Those can be replaced without taking the chains off. But just the adjustment guide is the only one to worry about at all if the button that the tensioner rides/pushes against is getting worn.

I use automatic transmission fluid and a stiff brass wire brush to clean the tops of the Pistons and then wipe it out with a clean rag.
