Old describes both me and my wee C15. If I don't keep on top of it kicking can become extreme. Thanks for commenting.

Alan it is good to be back on it. I am going further and further with it. I hope to make a proper trip soon. I still haven't regained my faith in it!

A welcome sight. Sounds pretty good too. You've reminded me that I want to check the timing on my AJS.

William you always give such nice positive remarks. Hope you get on well with timing the old AJS.

Nice one Hugh, you keep riding that c15. I had one many years ago,yours sounds nice. I’m 71 now and I have two KawasakiGPZ550s,I love riding them,you never loose the bike bug.😊

Michael its in your blood! There is nothing quite like being out on any motor-bike. But an old one is special. Enjoy your GPZs.

hi Hugh its great to see you out on the c15 again, and i mush say all my bikes are still running on points at least you stand a chance of fixing some like getting a spark to the plug with the good old points. anyway Hugh you take care. kind regards Adrian.
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
I agree with you Adrian you stand some chance of sorting it out with points. It was kind of depressing when it would not run.

Nicely done Hugh. A lot to be said for a distributor and points. And thanks for the ride. Cheers, Peter.
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
Thanks for that Peter. I agree with you. It's back to being more period!

Wonderful to see you out on the BSA. What a lovely day for a ride. I must say it sounds great, you've become quite the BSA whisperer.
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
Clare thanks again. I would hardly say that! I certainly can't whisper to get it to retain it's oil!

@@hughferrier5837 I laughed at that. I owned a B33 that was named "Tiddles".

Sounds good Hugh, all seems to run okay,
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
It is running better in some ways but I think there may be more vibration (if that were possible) at lower revs. It's going and it's good to be out on it again.
@Tonyv195111 ай бұрын
What a lovely day that was. Interesting to see how you adapted the plate to change the range of advance possible on the Tiger Cub unit. So the C15 lives again. Good job. Going from memory, I am not sure you should have such a strong spark at the contact breaker points. I suspect it might be worth changing the condenser to lessen that spark at the points.
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
Hello Tony and thank you for taking the time to comment. Great to be back riding the C15. I agree it is arcing too much across the points. I put that comment on the film at 4.59. It will do for this year and I will fit new points and condenser next year! There are always jobs to do on a c15!

Takes me back. I had a SS80 which was supposed to be the 'hot' version.
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
John thank you for that. The SS80 is a really pretty bike. I probably prefer the looks to the Star but I do like being out on a machine that kids on its from '59. Probably for BSA 'hot' is the wrong word, maybe 'warmer'.

@davidwilliamson916211 ай бұрын
@@hughferrier5837 I thought you had sorted the oil leaks Hugh? 👍
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
Don't make me cry! They sort for a wee while and then you go out and the wee basin under the bike has oil in it. That is just stationary. I am still losing gearbox oil when I go for a run. Maybe I should put my camera under the bike!

It is strange as the C15 engine was based on the Tiger Cub engine. Amongst the rust I can make out 6°.

Hi Hugh Its Good to see you back on the bike, I never realized that the bike had an ignition unit rather than a points distributor! Did it come with that or was it a mod you made?
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
Hello Leonard. Some previous owner had fitted the Boyer ignition to it. That's why I had to buy another distributor as I didn't have the mechanism. I feel I have made it more period with going back to points, fitting incandescent bulbs instead of LEDs and going back from the Concentric it came to me with to a Monobloc! Good to be driving it again.

Cant beat a good old distributor and points….something tangible to work with. Regards Stuart from NE England.
@hughferrier583711 ай бұрын
I agree Stuart. You have a fighting chance to make it home if things go wrong!
@iangraham460411 күн бұрын
Did you fit an O-ring to the distributer where it seats on the crankcase? I have a Triumph Tiger cub with a very similar distributer. It leaks oil from the hole where the distributer fits. I put in an O-ring. Still leaking! Rgds
@hughferrier583711 күн бұрын
@@iangraham4604 Ian I am not aware of fitting that, but I have no leak from the distributor. I am now down to a very slight leak at the front sprocket so small it is hardly noticeable. I also have a leak from the top end on the pushrod side but it is not from the pushrod tube. Compared to a year ago it's miraculous! There is also an internal gearbox leak. It is now more drivable. Thanks for offering sensible advice from your own experience.
