to everyone sayin vsu sounds bad, all i gotta say is they could have had better control. but only a real tuba player know how hard it is to slur hit high notes and hit low notes like these guys did. not all they notes were on point but if you play tuba, you know how real these niggas are. bsu had alot of control and i respect that but they refused to open up

BSU suffered here due to poor repertoire, they need to expand their book and include pieces of greater technical difficulty. This is like hearing one musician play scales and arpeggios against another one playing Russian classics.

@startingQB a battle is a form of competition, and the crowd serves as a body of judges. No one would want to see a non-competitive battle, and no one in that crowd left saying "I wasn't trying to see who won, I just wanted to hear them play." Everyone had an opinion about who sounded better, and in my opinion, as part of the body of judges, VSU won b/c they played selections with greater difficulty & sounded better than their opponent.

SP1D3RP1G69 if your referring to my comment. I really didn't listen do the chord my first time. It's just not something I heard in another version of the fanfare. It made it sound wrong. They both ok tho I'm trying to listen to other bands than SU. I hate when people bias opinions to a band. Like alot(close to all) JSU or TSU fans think that they can smash on southern when there isn't a video of them doing it that southern didn't return a play it alot better.They even lost with their own scor

The yellow band played cool-aid at about 5:00 omg that was nasty sounding. They lost only because they didn't have that blend I was waiting for. They were playing 1 voice setting music it feels like. I like the white because the blend but they weren't together like the yellow.

@vsuLegacy its not all about technical difficulty in battles, save the for competitions and judges. battles are mostly about souding good and looking good in front of the crowd.

@paralyzer2010 Yes you can. As a matter of fact you can do more. Every section is limited to the skill level of their weakest player. You have no weakest player... you just need to practice to be better than the weakest player of the section you're up against. You don't have to be better than their best, because the section doesn't play at that level.
