I absolutely loved everything about it - from the vocals to the music to the dancing to the set to the costumes to the nod to Queen's 'Another One Bites the Dust'...just pure perfection and I can't wait to see more!

- This seems like a really interesting perspective. I've got to follow this journey! Subscribed. - If you watch the Spring Day mv or Baepsae (no mv, only live) you definitely need to watch the explanation videos "What you still don't know about BTS Spring Day Mv" and "Baepsae explanation made by a korean". They'll show you just how deep their lyrics and videos go and some of the political riscs they've taken. - Good intro videos are: This is BTS (about the group) This is BTS ARMY (their influence on the entire world will shock you) Who is BTS? (about each member) - When you're ready, definitely dive into the Bangtan Universe aka the storyline that started in 2015 and still gives an additional meaning to a lot of their mv's. It includes murder, substance addiction, domestic abuse, poverty, suicide attempt, institutions, depression, Damian by Herman Hesse, greek gods, etc, etc. It's an insanely deep rabbit hole but so worth it. It starts with I Need U.) I'll let you breathe now... 😂

@@fandomtherapist9310 I started with let’s give them a try too...kinda funny but I ended up watching everything related to them, from their funny videos, mv behind the scenes to their documentary series and even RUN BTS...I thought there is no way I could respect them more but after watching the documentary series , the level of respect or fondness for them just naturally keeps jumping higher every time ......Their B sides are definitely pure therapy for me..The lyrics are unrivaled and never fail to impress me...I even use them while talking to the clients 😂And girl,,the storyline and concepts just knocked me off.. Tbh, I had some misinformation about BTS and ARMYs before ,but after diving into this and understanding everything, I just wish I found them earlier.. Now I could eventually see changes in myself too,,my perspective on things or how I deal with self-criticism ..its way too long, I wasn’t expecting a reply but thanks ,this made me so happy... I am glad you enjoyed BUTTER and hope you would give a chance to others songs too...Have a nice day honey...

Music is therapy in my opinion so...I’m excited! 😆 one of my fave thing to do with clients, especially those who struggle to open up, is have them share with me their fave song or songs they listen to when they’re sad/angry/etc and share with me which lyrics resonate with them the most. It builds rapport AND gets them to open up!

But your comment about some clients who find it difficult to talk of problems brought to mind 2 of BTS songs which go together: *I'm fine* - a song about people saying they are fine when they're actually burdened with sorrow/problems etc *Save me* - about how light one feels almost happy when they unburden. Its fun to watch reactors thinking *Save me* is a distress song and *I'm fine* a happy joyous one.

I had depression when I discovered BTS, they came to me at the right moment. It was random but worth the journey. My most helpful therapy (aside from their songs) is their own variety show "RUN BTS". These boys are natural comedians and hella chaotic. It's indeed true that laughter is the best medicine. :)

I'm not sure whether they intended it or not...I think by kissing the hand in the choreography they were mostly just being flirty. BUT, that being said, Jungkook (who starts the song and does the first hand kiss) has an ARMY tattoo on that hand right where he kissed it. Could be coincidence, but I like to think not. 😆

As someone who has also been around since SHINee. Ring ding dong is the national anthem...you need to listen to the BTS love yourself series. It's the reason why I decided study a BA in psychology, they also tackle Carl Jungs Map of the soul. Thank you for talking about radio, we ARMYs and Bangtan have worked hard over the past 7 year's to get where we are. 21:37 my favourite part because they're in gender neutral clothes while spelling ARMY 🥺.

I was down the BTS rabbit hole when I saw their speech at the UN regarding their love yourself/speak yourself campaign. RM delivers it with the members behind him. That speech made me full ARMY. Oh and just an FYI ........RM has an IQ of 148.

about rap: rap is actually a huge part of bts, they were originally meant to be a hip hop/rap group, then plans changed into being an idol group but the the hip hop base still stayed, the group has three rappers, two of them used to be underground rappers, all three of them also have their own mixtapes, they are honestly amazing and extremely talented

@@fandomtherapist9310 I'm someone who also hates American rap, in terms of sound and content (and rap culture is just....so stupid to me lol), but I ADORE Korean rap. It might be because I don't speak Korean (yet) but the Korean language just seems to lend itself to flowing in a much more pleasing manner than English; English just always seems too choppy and just unpleasant-sounding to my ears?? Idk hopefully you can understand what I'm trying to say very inarticulately haha In addition to it just sounding better, all 3 rappers (Namjoon/RM, Yoongi/Suga, and Hoseok/J-Hope) are incredibly talented and able to change up their cadences and flows (and octaves) at the drop of a hat and so it just creates really interesting and dynamic verses/songs. And then last but not least, the content of their raps vs. American raps is another aspect that just makes me love their rapping. They actually rap about things of SUBSTANCE rather than things like making money and getting all the b*tches or whatever it is that American rappers rap about lol They also do so in very, very clever ways; their raps are FULL of metaphors, cultural references, plays on words, etc. Many of their songs have explanation videos done by Korean people because they're just so heavily laden with Korean cultural references or language that is just untranslatable to English. Believe it or not, I didn't mean to type an essay here but here we are 😂 sorry....

Haha, I TOTALLY get you! Korean is such a beautiful language and sounds so fluid so it makes sense their raps would as well. And YES - what I dislike the most about American rap songs is the content. And then the rap culture comes second after that.

I’m a 71 year old American woman from San Diego, California, married to a Swedish man for the last 23 years, but I have lived in Europe for over 30 years. I discovered BTS in 2017 while looking for dance videos - you and me! I watch something BTS every night before going to sleep, knowing that I’ll sleep happy. Thanks for your thorough back story. As someone who had a really similar relationship with kpop as you, I can guarantee that BTS just hits different from a lot of kpop groups! I’ve been a kpop Stan since 2005 mainly because of DBSK, BoA and Wonder Girls but in 2011/2012 I started to lose interest in kpop cuz I feel like something was missing... that’s when BTS debuted with No More Dream in 2013, at first I didn’t think much deeper about this song, but then I read the lyrics and discovered they wrote it themselves and I got shocked, maybe that’s exactly what I was missing about kpop, to sound more genuine, more human like and less like a manufactured industry with nonsense catchy lyrics, not that it was bad, I actually still enjoy that aspect of kpop and love to listen to Gee Gee or Tell me or Sorry Sorry, but I was aiming for something more at that time and BTS gave me. Since that I’ve been following their journey as an ARMY and it was the best decision ever, they really had to go through a lot to achieve the success they have now and we as fans had to prove that the whole industry was wrong about them. I know it sounds really dramatic and u might think I’m saying this just from a fan perspective but unfortunately that’s exactly how it happened, they were the underdogs and punch bags of the kpop industry for several years and the Big3 really used their power and influence against BTS innumerable times because they started to see them as a treat. I hope u take time to also see that side of their history and journey as a group to fully understand their impact. Some videos I would recommend regarding this topic is: “THIS IS BTS | Introduction to BTS” by the channel xCeleste “Why BTS is treated UNFAIR in KOREA” by the channel Korea Crush “BTS // FROM NOBODIES TO LEGENDS [2018]” and “BTS // FROM NOBODIES TO LEGENDS [2019]” both also by xCeleste And last but not least “BTS HARDSHIPS | Antis, Plagiarism, Sajaegi, Petitions | Struggles throughout the years” by xCeleste I highly recommend you watch these videos even if u don’t intend to react 💜

Heeey giiirrrl, 2009 kpop fan here, high five! So good to see you! So many things that you talk about are also so familiar to me. It does feel so strange to see kpop become more and more wide known. The feeling of not having time to even breath for several years. Checking our BTS amongs others and becoming their fan only several years later. So - hi! :) "V looks like a greek god." Check out their MMA 2019 performance. In one of the segments he represents Apollo, and I think it is totally suitable. "It is illegal to look so attractive". My theory is that it is exactly what they reference with their "criminal undercover" lyrics haha. There is a inside fandom joke about suing Suga because he is so attractive that it tortures his fans. It was a recurring joke that they even quoted in their House of Army sketch and in Mic Drop lyrics. "Talk is cheap" - they definitely do not reference therapy work nor they mean to claim that words do not matter. The guys have been raising topics of mental health since the beginning, some of them openly talk about working with therapists and that mental problems should not be stigmatized. You can check out Agust D (Suga) "The Last" to see one of the examples or "Answer: Love yourself" as the one having a different tone. Or check our their album Map of the Soul which is based on Jungian archetypes (my honest opinion: the album is a masterpiece where all songs form a story, each of them being exactly where it has to be in the sequence). "I may have made a mistake by checking up this MV at first". Oh no, don't worry about it. They have the best MVs possible. So much imagery and art work, beautiful and deeply meaningful. The one I would really really recommend would be Spring Day + the video by the user Italian Army called "Spring Day explained". This song has never left the charts since it was released in the past 4 years. "I don't know how I slept on BTS so long". There is a saying in this fandom. "BTS finds you when you need them the most". It is so true for so many armys. So, welcome :)

Been on hiatus since 2014-2016 and then i fell in love with bts when i was looking for something to make me feel better during my low times. Please check the Love Yourself series. It helped me a lot.

Thank you for your reaction! I never thought I will ever get into KPOP. They completely changed my mind. There is a saying in the Fandom that you discover BTS when you need them. It was definitely true for me. Many ARMYs came for the music and stayed for the boys. I am an older ARMY in my 30s, and I must say that their lyricism is unrivalled, often filled with themes of self-discovery and loving yourself. As a person who likes all genres of music, I can find them all in BTS. Also, it's funny that you said that you were not into rap. I wasn't either when I first started getting into BTS. Now, I am a big fan of their rap. Looking forward to following your journey in getting to know BTS. I would recommend starting with some guides. I found BTS when I wasn't looking for them, but honestly when I needed them the most. I battle with body dysmorphia, PTSD, severe depression, anxiety, BPD, I self harmed. They have helped me through some of the darkest waters I have sailed, but they helped me find the courage to not give up and let my boat capsize. It's of course their music, but fundamentally who they are as people is truly inspiring. They remain humble and kind, advocate for equal rights, campaign with UNICEF to help end violence against children worldwide, and they even spoke at the UN. I hope you come down the rabbit hole with us, it's a journey that will surely change you...but I promise you won't regret it. Borahae💜

@@kidu9443 to add on to this comment, Jin was suffering a bit with impostor's syndrome. Abyss was his way of expressing that. You should check out their solo songs, they're all great. But Jin's solos seem to hit the hardest (with me at least) "Epiphany" live is one of the best ever. "Awake" is also great live. I'm unsure if it's the Sydney performance, but the one with all the live string instrumentalists is fantastic.

Kpop changed" comment because that boy also has a full tattoo sleeve on his right arm haha. And yeah, early BTS were very very different than their style now. I personally love most of what they've done but I have many shawol friends who also could never get into their early stuff (2013-2015ish) but got converted/convinced + a fan at some point afterwards due to their genre versatility. My initial bias was Yoongi but JK kinda crept up on me the more time passed and stole my heart 😂 He's very odd and dorky and his voice is just one of the most stable in the entire industry and I'm constantly impressed with him. They are so amazing, and I am in love, and after researching their work since the beginning, I feel like a veteran already. Their work is so high quality, with a foundation of humility, kindness, fierceness, drive, dedication, skill, talent, and beauty. Get this, they topped the US hot 100 with an ALL KOREAN BALLAD too. That one completely blew my mind. BTS is something else entirely. They were the biggest artist in the world last year, named the top recording artist of 2020 by IFPI, leaving all the huge US acts behind. The first time a non westerner and non English speaking act EVER topped that chart. What BTS are doing is making history. Five albums of theirs are the bestselling Korean albums of all time. No kpop act is even on that list, let alone tops it. They had the bestselling album in the world in 2020, selling more than twice as much as Taylor swift folklore and the Weeknd after hours!! They are the biggest pop act in the world. A non English speaking non westerner. In their very own category all by themselves. Their story is also fascinating. Since you were a kpop fan, you know the industry was dominated by three huge corrupt companies. BTS comes from a tiny underdog label that had no money nor influence and left them all personal and creative freedom. They had nobody and had no chance of making it. But their sincerity, rawness, creativity was what won in the end. They come from nothing and struggled for years while being slandered and sabotaged and they end up not just beating all the national Korean industry giants but all the industry giants in the west and the US.

Very nice video 🤗 For me when they said "let me show you cause talk is cheap" it's more in the sense "actions are better than words", and in most cases they are ^^ I'm sure your Army patients must have told you but BTS has lots of songs talking about mental health, depression, anxiety, and personal development so it wouldn't make sense for them to dismiss therapy 🤔 They are really open about their struggles and often share their thoughts with their fans. I recommend their songs 'Blue and Grey', and 'Dis-ease' from their last album 'BE' and my all-time favorite song 'Magic shop'. And for an MV maybe 'Black Swan' and 'Fake love', they have great choreographies. PS: BTS' Dynamite was actually nominated for Best group performance for the Grammys, they didn't win but still, it was a very big hit all over the world 💥 'Butter' and 'Dynamite' are their 2 only all-English songs.

They've definitely mentioned it, haha! And knowing that therapy is helpful and actually participating in it - especially when it's trauma work - are two whole different kettle of fish 😂 but I wouldn't say any of them dismiss therapy, it's just tough work and unpleasant sometimes and avoidance can rear its ugly head at any moment when we get uncomfortable. And I know - that line about talk is cheap just made me laugh cause I had literally just had a client tell me they hated therapy cause they hate talking 😂 and thank you so much for the recs!!!

Just to let you know Taemin and Jimin are very close friends. They also both did a dance off together on Korean tv special. Jungkook also has a tattoo on his hand which says ARMY. He and Jimin both have a few tattoos each. And both are just starting to show them off more

Last week I was at work playing Butter. A coworker comes up to me and she asked who's that. I answer BTS expecting I would have to explain who they were. My coworker goes: "Oh yeah they're a music group right? I haven't heard any of their songs yet. This is a good song I might download it." Then she walks away not realising she just blew my mind LOL! To add to this a friend of mine that I know for a fact hates kpop or any foreign anything whatsapp me to tell ME that Bts is on tv and he likes the song. People I live in the Caribbean! You don't understand how shocking this is! People here in general don't like different. It takes serious effort to make them even think of stepping outside their comfort zone. This song may be just a summer dance number and not Bts best but keep doing what you're doing boys! That shit is WORKING!!!

@@fandomtherapist9310 Just a suggestion, but many will advise you to watch their videos twice...the first time without captions so you can concentrate on the boys destroying you with the visuals and dancing (where I guarantee there will be much pausing and rewinding, which is totally understand and acceptable), and then the second run through with the captions so you get the lyrics. Music is my therapy too! Congrats on your Master's, and you've been busy! I'm impressed and inspired! I love that you're hearing what your clients' favorite songs are! Mamamoo is the only girl group I like. I don't spend much time listening to them. All my music time and attention goes to BTS, ATEEZ, TXT, and ENHYPEN. Happy to have you here in the BTS World! When you made the comment about Jin's line about the Robber I LOL'd because I had the EXACT same reaction when I first heard the song!!! So glad I had the captions on!!! It's doubly funny if you know that he had a little scandal a few years ago regarding said item, and I wonder if it's just a pronunciation thing, or if Mr. Dad Jokes did that on purpose. I totally wouldn't put it past him... Oh, and Jungkook kissing his hand... He has ARMY tattooed across his knuckles, and we believe that is his way of letting us know he's including us.
