One thing a lot of people miss is Jungkook and RM. Jungkook is Icarus, RM is his father Daedalus. Greek legend says that Daedalus gave Icarus wings made of feathers and wax and warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun. Icarus had too much hubris and gave into temptation and flew too far up in the sky, causing the wax to melt. He fell into the sea and drowned. Hence RM dripping candle wax onto Jungkook's finger, and Jungkook giving into temptation and tasting the wax. Then we see Jungkook suspended in air with feathers floating around him, like he's falling. Later you see him upside down on the bed while RM is slumped in a chair, symbolizing Icarus's downfall/death and his father's despair. Also, when V jumps off the balcony (fallen angel, get it) the scene in the background is a famous landscape painting of Icarus's death in the sea (you can see his legs in the water).

They practice up to 13 hours a day (or more if they are practicing for a comeback) and they hardly take any days off but of course that time also includes singing and practicing everything else but they mostly practice performance. BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS MV EXPLANATION: (My perspective) There's a lot of symbolism in this music videos that are related to their long story line that runs through their series of music videos and short films. This MV is inspired by the book "DEMIAN" by Herman Hesse. The book is about Emil Sinclair, a young boy raised in a middle class home, amidst what is described as a Scheinwelt, a play on words meaning "world of light" as well as "world of illusion". Emil's entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: the show world of illusion and the real world, the world of spiritual truth. In the course of the novel, accompanied and prompted by his mysterious classmate 'Max Demian', he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self. (In the music video, RM's narrating a quote from that book.) Jin is playing the character of Sinclair and V as (Demian) a fallen angel that's why his wings were cut off. And all 7 members are portraying the 7 deadly sins. The scene where Jin kisses the fallen angel is a metaphor of loosing your innocence by falling into evil deeds. (V and Jin cannot kiss so they used a statue instead.) After that kiss scene, you'll notice how everything crashes and the members are acting or dancing in a more sensual way and Jin's cracking face, which meant that their innocence were gone. (They explained that the WINGS ALBUM was about encountering temptations and BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS is a sexy song of sorrow.) Welcome to BTS' fictional world, that we call BTS' UNIVERSE: THE FICTIONAL WORLD OF BANGTAN. You see, BTS have this story line that runs through their series of music videos, short films and highlight reels. The whole concept of this mv is heavily inspired by Demian, a book written by Herman Hesse. It's a book about growing up, and the responsibility of becoming an adult which become the focus of this story but it has an even deeper meaning than that as they also quote Nietzsche, greek mythology and their own previous music video before coming up with all of this. The dance moves are really great and satisfying to watch, this music video is the 2nd blow that increase the success of BTS's career, made them win their first ever Artist of The Year and Album of The Year 2 months after its release. BTS has got so many up & downs the more they release songs. The first blow of success they got was from a song called "I Need U" (2015) that got them their first win on music shows and a lot of dedicated fanbase after that as the song and the concept talks about youth, the hardship of a teenage that speaks but adults won't listen that relates to many of us. Black wings means fallen angel. The blondie w the ripped wings is the "temptor" and the guy who kissed the statue represents having fallen into temptation. In the museum w the giant portrait cut you see a black arc and white arc on either side. That alone is symbolic. This MV is inspired by the book, Demian by Herman Hesse.

Idk of anyone has commented on this but Jin kissing a devil (which in this case is the statue/V with his black wings) means that he made a deal with the devil. Thus, he loses his innocence (shown where his face starts cracking). This BS&T is basically telling a story of the boys growing up & losing their innocence to temptations (RM drinking the alcohol, Jungkook tasting the wax, Jimin putting on the blindfold) then Once they do, they’re tainted (eg; Jimin with the green tears, RM blowing smoke etc). There’s also symbolism of boys growing to be men. Jungkook was on the swing with a lollipop but then afterwards he’s floating. Jimin with the catapult and then JHope with the bow & arrow.

For Blood,Sweat and tears... When they are running all together is that they are escaping from the past but Jin wants to give life again to his past... When V covers Jin's face it is that when you must close your eyes and look to the future...(I guess) V with the wings detached is the past hurt and blood sweat and tears you have given to have a better future. When Jin is kissing the angel it means that he is giving life again to his past to create a new future... The museum means the memory of your head. The members can do backflips. Jimin has over 8 years of training in martial arts including kendo (which is a modern Japanese martial art descending from swordsmanship-kenjutsu) and also Taekwondo. He's an international MMA scholar. Jungkook is a black-belter in Taekwondo. SUGA is a Judo trainee. Most of the members are fit because they are exposed to Taekwondo/Kendo and Mixed Martial Arts. Jungkook in this music video is held by strings (the one floating) but he can do a back-flip while dancing. Please watch BTS' I Need U performance in Gayo Daechukjae with SUGA playing the piano to see Jungkook doing backflips while performing in contemporary dance.

They practice anywhere from 8 to 12 to 14 hrs a day for their dances. They put so much time in perfecting and synchronizing their steps and placement.
