I was the same way. When i first learned that BTS existed, i thought they only did songs like dynamite, butter, and permission to dance. and i had absolutely no interest in a poppy boy band. I didn't hate the 3 songs, but i don't usually listen to pop so i had no reason to look into them. However after i started to learn more about them and discovered the rest of their discography and understood the reason for the existence of these 3 songs, i learned to like and appreciate it. These were 3 well made pop songs. even if they are not the genre of music i like, they were done well and i can appreciate that. They also made it fun and all the different renditions and performances shows their artistry. such as that jimmy kimmel live performance. i don't think people understand how hard it is to keep those formations while walking up. some groups can't even maintain their positions on a stage let alone worrying about forward moving too. AND you can tell they were singing it live. it also came from a place where BTS wanted to cheer up Army during the pandemic. How can you hate on that? Some people say BTS were sell outs because they did 3 songs in english....if they kept doing songs in english and giving up their artistry, then i get that. BUT this is only 3 songs in their discography of 400+ songs...and they released korean songs/albums since then. which makes this excuse invalid. I used to dismiss these 3 songs...but now when i hear it play i actually get excited. Boy have things changed since i took a deep dive into these boys. I used to make fun of my cousins for being Army and buying those limited edition BT21 stuff from mcdonalds and chatime...now i have a countdown on my widgets for when they boys return from military service 💀

How hard they worked on this one minute bonus performance that they didn’t have to do, makes me wonder how many takes they do on average for full blown performances or MVs…such perfectionists. 💜💜💜

I REALLY thought they would get SOTY Grammy for 'Butter' that year. So disappointing. But, at least their after-the-Grammy live session had more views than the Grammy's themselves. Hahaha...joke's on you, Grammys

The Grammy performance - to have to go through the practices without Hobi must have been very very scary for them... he had Covid , as did a couple of the others ( i think JK and Tae ? ) so to have one day with them all back but still not feeling 100% shows how much they value their work ethic... Hobi tripping up the steps at the beginning must have given them a second of panic - of course Army just worried about him knowing he hadn't been well but he smiled and all was right with the world ! Jin having to sit due to his hand surgery was also sad for them ... we were just glad they were all together...it was a very special moment in their history... a lot of artists felt very different about this little 'Kpop' group after this performance that's for sure !

Rolling Stone magazine listed their Grammy performance number #15 of all time greatest Grammy performances. 💜💜💜

Fun fact. The choreographer for this Butter/Megan Thee Stallion remix dance break is one of JK‘s back up dancers, Nick Joseph. (And the hand gesture they make was taught to them by Megan)

I'm so glad that you recorded this. I waited for the blocked content to be available on Patreon before I watched everything. They're very good at providing us with content that makes us laugh. I smile and laugh enough during my daily life that my cheeks don't hurt, but there have been episodes of Run! that made me laugh so hard, my stomach hurt. Among their English songs, Butter is what I consider has the most mainstream style. A song that the general public can easily digest. Seeing them having so much fun on the set is what makes my heart warm even if I don't like the song that much. I always look forward to their live performances because they don't give you a half-baked stage perf. Every performance is different. They (Bighit & BTS) always know how to keep ARMY invested. 💜

I remember a tweet by a fan that had over 400k+ likes and it was just JK standing there and looking into the camera. There was also a lot of memes about him hanging on that harness while clapping for other artists 😂

I find that with KPop songs in general (and I really hate to make generalizations) but for me sometimes I don't like to listen to the song on it's own but if I watch the MV with the visuals and even a performance on a music show that I enjoy the song so much more. Some songs benefit from the dance and performance. I think to this day I don't really listen to Butter on my playlist but I love to watch the different performances.

I don't think any of them will ever think they're 'good' .. in answer to your question about the 3J dance prac... they always said they don't ever want to do anything that Army would consider embarassing to be a fan... like that would ever happen ... but they just need it to be perfect. I hope when they return from their military service they will just ease off on themselves a little... and realise that just seeing them is enough for Army...
