This cypher pt2 was a response to the group of rappers (certain rapper named B-Free) who embarrased these BTS. You might think BTS lyrics are so mean. But if you watched the event, you'd realize the lyrics for whom it is. Just sharing. Hehehe

I dont know why but when someone appreciates RM, i feel prouder and happier than if someone actually appreciates me. he is literally a genius and people are so used to seeing him doing well and him always producing, composing, writing that they take it for granted. i feel like he doesnt get so much hype because everyone already expects him to create good works. that is why i think we should give more credit to RM for what he has done for us and BTS. the fact that he can flow and rhyme with english and do it better than some artists whose native language is english is really impressive as well. he is not a bilingual. he learned enlish later in his life. all by himself! and now he can write songs (meaninful ones) in english. if this is not impressive i dont know what is...

So! If I'm remembering correctly, cypher two was aimed at a group of underground rappers who dissed them on a radio show(saying things like they can't be rappers and idols and that stage makeup makes them girls). I may be wrong but there are videos explaining the "purpose" of all the cyphers!

the line "just go to hawaii, go home" is a diss to an underground rapper who came for rm and suga during an interview before bts went big, said that they werent real rappers or "hip hop" because theyre idols, because they wear make up on stage, which makes them "like girls".... i think i'd be intresting to see your reaction to that video (just look up bfree and bts)

But the thing is that, a lot of people don't know that it's also a reference to the one of the most famous lines in Korean cinema history which makes it a more diss worthy punch line since it was done so nicely. Like literally, every single Korean person knows that line from the movie.

*RM and SUGA's verses in Cypher 2 is superior.* (And their angriest) What's crazy is that their Korean word play is more amazing but us non-koreans won't really ever the understand the depth of the lyrical genius.

Yes this is why Cypher 2 is my favorite. It shows the best of Suga and RM. I just wish J Hope was at the level is at now (not that he was bad he just grew so fast)

Yow guys read your comments too ... The cypher was created because of the B-free incident. He was a rapper at that time and he told suga and RM that they were girly because they wear make up blah blah and they were not worthy in hiphop or in rapping... something like that... they defended themselves thru the cypher series. ITS A DISS TRACT ...addressing to all the people who belittled them, the people who did not acknowledge their talents, the people accusing them of bad things, to all the haters to sum it all... the cypher was for the haters ... Try to find a clip about the.B-free incident then tell us if he deserves it... cypher 1 and 2 is for bfree... and 3 and 4 is for the haters...

This is a diss about the rappers who dissed them, specially BFree. In that one interview, with RM and Suga and other underground rappers, the rappers dissed them by becoming idols and then BFree said they were girls because they wore makeup. BFree is from Hawaii.

if you were an Army at the time this song was released, you'll remember how crazy everyone went cause the whole fandom was so upset over the Bfree shit it was the BEST feeling. I still go crazy every time I hear Yoongi say 'go back to hawaii' dfhdfkhaf. And you have to remember the fandom was small back then so things like this were actually damaging to the boys (if someone said those things to them today it probably wouldnt affect them anymore)

I cannot decide between RM and Suga. They are so different in the way they rap and soooo good at the same time. I think RM is more perfect in style and language use (the eminem flow 😉), plus considering the fact that he is not a native English speaker (Korean not even close to English), but comes up with the stuff like 07:43. Suga is more raw, passionate and deep and kind of poetic. While RM is a real rap monster Suga is living music through his whole body.

Speed - Suga (obviously, his tongue technology is crazy) Tone - Both (Suga does this thing when he raps and laughs underneath his words which makes the rap 10x better, while RM switches from rapping fast to slow which grabs attention) Freestyle - RM (He can easily freestyle) Word-play - RM (RM is known as a brilliant lyricist, and in this video you can obviously tell by his verse. He not only rhymes, but is never off beat and the way he chooses words is incredible.) Presentation - Both (By this, I mean rapping live. They both have killer charisma on stage) Aggressiveness/Emotion - Suga (By aggressive I mean his rap voice makes you feel as if he's saying it to YOU. Being a rapper is not about cutesy stuff to him, it's about raw feelings. Suga is great at pouring his emotions into rap.) Flow - J-Hope (honestly, J-Hope wasn't even an option between the two, but I just wrote him because his flow is crazy as heck. It's so unique and different, and he can do numerous rap styles) Overall - Stan the rap line because, that's BTS' strong point.

When he says "you know when I ride on my G5 you sit frist class and satisfy and I keep giggling" A G5 is a private jet so what he's saying is that even if you buy your ticket first class and you're satisfied BTS is still above because they fly private not commercial, and that's why he keeps giggling, showing once again that he will never be on their level

I feel like that comes with a little understanding of the historical culture. Not everyone knows that to be an emperor was worshipped as a deity, so to be a King and a God was to be an Emperor. They got the overall idea though, I think.

Honestly a lot of people don't appreciate their bars in Cypher 1 and 2. They went innnnnn, and I still don't know how RM managed to switch his flow from Korean to English so many times. Cypher 3 and 4 are GOOD but sometimes I feel like ARMYs hype them more than the others because of the beats..I'm sure you will still love them though! 3 is actually my favorite :) Can't wait for the next video! Yea, also as a non Korean speaker its easy to miss possible wordplay and literary devices. ts hard to catch stuff like that when you dont speak the language.

Haha actually my favourite cyphers are #2 & #4. I really love suga's rap here, and my fav line will probs be 'like your parents, whenever I see you, my heart hurts.' Which basically means they are disappointed in them, and in Korea where being filial is a big thing is such a burn! And his laugh 👌 Anyways he is savage for a reason, the people they were dissing are B-free, who insulted them as being girls cause they wear stage make up, and told them they betrayed hip hop cause they became idols. Since that group was older than them, rm and suga, and Jhope decided to make this cypher to respond, cause like in Korea being older means you can't talk back/You mist respect them. (So talking back to saying you are wrong would be seen as rude.) So they had to take being insulted right to their faces. Anyways I think the cypher series proved they can rap. 💜

I love seeing people get hype to the cyphers! Also I find it interesting that Yoongi ( Suga/Agust D) kinda made a Moana reference before it was even out. The "just go home, go to Hawaii. See how far I go" part! They all killed it! I personally think cyphers 2 and 3 are the best! 4 gets me hype though, too!
