It ties in with albums topic of what Jimin went through, his inner thoughts, feelings, his emotions during pandemic. Jimin mentioned just how much army gave him so much support, showing their love, praise & faith in him, that helped him so much during this time. Only army would get the word out about this so heartwarming, so beautiful song. Though anyone who actually listens to the physical Ep will get the wondrous, ever delightful surprise when discovering this song as well. Its a letter for ARMY according to Jimin, that's why he made it a hidden track and only available in physical album. Also the alternate/sub title registered in KOMCA for Jimin’s hidden track ‘Letter’ is ‘Dear ARMY’. 💜

This song is exquisite. I think it's what many people have said: a hidden track for a hidden couple. Take a look at the notes in the CD package; there are handwritten lyrics there that Jimin wrote when he was first composing the song. He clearly wanted this to be a more obvious love song, but some of the lines got changed later. When asked today whom the song was for, he said ARMY, but what else could he say while living in Korea? And then Jungkook's WLive today ... most of it was all about Jimin. Make of that what you will.

Maybe some of you will understand derstand this. "Letter" is my favorite song on his album. Oh, oh!

The way I interpreted the album, based on the lyrics, imagery and what Jimin himself has said; this was an album that touches upon his depression throughout the pandemic as well and his identity. Except for the hidden track (which reads exactly like a love letter. The interview he did on AERA magazine actually points more to him writing it for Jungkook and BTS rather than ARMY), I interpreted the album as him questioning who he is. Rather than alcohol (although it can be a big part of it), it feels like he used to get drunk on the fame and his work, and not that he was without it he was questioning who he was without it. SMF, for example, touches upon how the expectations from outside sources made him suppress a lot of who he was but no longer. n his interviews over the last few days Jimin said that this whole album is inspired by how he was so depressed over the pandemic. He found not performing in front of fans so hard and there are many times over the pandemic there were behind the scenes videos were he said how hard he found performing without fans.

JK did the backing vocals, love when they harmonize . Like all hidden tracks, this song is for ARMY. Jimin stated this himself during his appearance in Suga's Suchwita Episode that released today on their YT channel. He explained that he wrote it after they announced their hiatus/lbreak from group work. So it expresses his hope that we will all still be there once they return from the military and that things wills till be the same between ARMY and BTS.

IS this a song for ARMY? I mean, that's what Jimin will say. Because of who he is, he pretty much has to say that. And I'm sure it is! ...in part. But Jimin--especially these past few years--has put a firm boundary between himself and his fans. He's super private and doesn't have nearly as much of a parasocial relationship with ARMY as some of the other members do (ahem-JK). Jimin's definitely not "holding" his fans physically, nor does he call them "baby." And if you look at the photos of Jimin's writing notebook that were released with the Weverse album, you can see that the original lyrics he wrote for the first chorus were even more intimate and specific--and native Korean speakers have pointed out that the nebulous "you" was written as "you and you only" (당신만), not a plural "you." I don't think any of us will ever know who this song was originally intended for, but I think it's pretty clear Jimin had someone specific in mind that inspired it. Even if it did end up being about ARMY, too.
