Seokjin’s vocals are insane. He has an incredible upper range for a male vocalist and technically holds the title for the highest belt in the entire group. His voice also gets a lot of critical acclaim, he was specifically titled silver voice by the recording academy, the kmas (the most prestigious award show in Korea) specifically pointed out his vocals in fake love for their soty nomination, and hishigh note in Dionysus was labeled the best moment of mots 7 by NME. Vocal coaches have pointed out his stability and range time and time again. It always irritates me when the only thing people have to say about him is that he “improved”. Yes, he improved and it’s good to recognize that but it is also important to recognize that right now he is an incredible singer in his own right regardless of his starting point. People love to push the “weakest vocalist” narrative on him when he isn’t. In fact there is no “weakest” vocalist in bts. It’s really hard to rank them because they all hold such unique vocal colors and talents that you can’t really pit them up against each other. When I got into bts I loved jin’s voice the most, other people like jk, tae, or jimin. I was the witness of SeokJin’s stage performance in Paris, of him and of his comfortable very broad shoulders ! You know the 7 of them have stage presence, and how much so, but that night of June 2019, Jin’s stage presence was overwhelming the huge French stadium. He bolted out with his powerful and sensitive voice but also you could feel his warm gentleness, his care for his members and dedication as a performer. All the members love Jin and I know why : he is the keystone to the team on and off stage !

Technicality and Stability wise is why Jungkook is the Main Vocalist. You’ll be surprised of how much background vocals Jungkook does. His execution whenever he is singing is *chefs kiss* however that doesn’t mean that everyone else isn’t amazing it’s just that he’s also had the most experienced. Before I even knew Jin's background, I picked him as my favorite vocalist because he made me FEEL the most. So emotional. Such power. He's a beautiful balladeer but he's proven he can really do any genre. And having seen them live in person twice, Jin is the most stable vocalist--he sounds just like the record and his pitch is great (though, to be fair, his choreo is generally simpler when singing than JK so Koo gets extra points for that, for sure).

Jin's a powerful balladeer. His voice is pure, especially when hitting his falsetto. He does good breathy voices as well as full-on chest and head voice. He sings sincerely when he's on stage. I think this was because he had the least lines in a song way back because the producers didn't think his voice was that good. So when he gets the chance, he will sing it with all he' s got. Also at 16:17, I love the way you just paused a second to take in Jimin. You paused at the perfect time. XD

Jin always stable in every live performance, he never cracked, always into the song, no doubt he graduated in konkuk university majored acting. My man is that perfect! I remember when bts had a concert in Saudi Arabia, jin started trending after his performance of epiphany, epiphany charted at no. 1 after the concert and according to the search, he was the most talked-about member in that country after that concert because everyone loved his voice and performance so much.

seokjin is a beast as a vocalist, I have been watching ALL their live performances and he is the best at lives, he not only never makes mistakes but also somehow improves every time he sings live, his vocals are crystal clear, he really has very strong and powerful voice (maybe he has good lungs), his voice is kinda very rich and thick even when he is singing very high his voice isn't becoming thinner but stays as powerful, that's why many ppl don't realize how high his notes are until they try to sing his songs themselves, as you said his voice is strong and loud that's why when several ppl sing together his voice is the one you recognize and can hear the best, his voice color is also very unique, chameleon voice that fits every genre and note bcz he can put emotions in his voice so well, idk know to describe this but he also sings with ease without struggling even while dancing complex choreos, for me he is the best

Honestly any member of the vocal line could be the main vocal. I've been told that the main vocal is partially decided by skill but also by whether their voice suites the type of music the group mainly does. I think out of all of them Jungkook has the most commercial voice that suites a lot of genres so that may be part of the reason why he has the title of main vocal (He's also great at ad libs, riffs etc). For Jin his voice tends to suite ballads (The truth Untold, Epiphany etc.) and even rock songs (Like his cover of Autumn Under The Post Office). He's also great at using his voice to convey strong emotions and is usually very stable even when doing a lot of movements on stage. (I would say him and Jungkook are often the most stable) V's voice suites slower sultry r&b songs really well (Singularity, Stigma etc.) and in my opinion he has the widest vocal range (he can hit crazy high notes and sing in a very deep tone as well.) I could see him collating with Sam Smith or Gallant. Jimin's unique vocal tone suits lighter songs more (Filter, Serendipity etc.) His voice has a lot of charm and he's really good at sounding flirty or playful. He also hits some extremely high notes that even women have a hard time reaching.

I love Jin's voice. I feel like it really is an anchor for their songs. His ballad vocals are so emotionally intense- can totally make me tear up and cry in an instant. 6:37 I am not a vocal coach or anything but after watching their live concert, I can tell you that all of them generally have very strong live vocals *but* I feel like Jin’s live voice is the clearest, and this is probably why you came into the conclusion that his voice is “the loudest” and “the strongest” because you can hear his voice very clearly. Unsurprisingly, there are many ARMYs who have the same thoughts as mine. Once, I stumbled upon someone who studied about music and he explained that the reason why Jin’s voice sounds very clear is because he probably went through vocal training the longest so he understands the most about how to control his breathing. Therefore, because of his skill and dedication, he has arguably the best technique out of the other vocalists although each member of the vocal line also has their own strength. So basically according to my friend it goes like this: *Jin: the best technique* *Jimin: the most unique* *Taehyung: the widest range* *Jungkook: the most stable* Since BTS have to dance while singing and/or rapping at the same time, the company picked Jungkook as the main vocalist. I agree the Jin is indeed the most slept on out of the vocal line (and for dancing even though he’s improved so much and work hard😢) as people (especially those newer to Bts) don’t really take the to really get to know each member. In terms of determining the roles, I can’t say for certain, but when bts first started out jk had the most technical skill in singing so he was the most versatile within their songs (like having the most lines) as a vocal. As time went on, things got spread out more as all the members improved and found their voice. I don’t think BTS even use the term “main vocal” that often anymore. I think they still use terms like “leader” “dance leader” “visual” “rapper” “vocal” instead of “ranking” them, they tend to use more general terms these days. J-Hope is still dance leader since he has the definitive role of leading them in dance, and Rm is leader because (you know why) Idk I think different members excel at different areas and have their own style so I can’t really rank them at all, all you can do is support and love them all Love your reactions💜

I dont like the title of "Main Vocalist" as ALL guys are capable of carrying this title. JK said that Jin is ready to be the main vocalist and last year stated that he's going to shatter ceilings with his high notes because no one else can hit them (behind the scenes of Love Yourself Tour). Ok here's my take on his voice. Before I go further, let me note that Jin is my ultimate bias. He destroyed my heart when I heard Epiphany live at citifield and ever since he's become my ult. Now, I love to sing and have been trained in indian classical music. So, I try to sing covers of BTS songs that are heavy on the vocal side. I can sing Jimin's, JK's and even Tae's songs fairly well (at least try to do some justice to them). But Jin's songs are beyond my reach. There's just so much color and emotion in his singing that I just cannot get myself to replicate. He is a class apart. I hope BigHit continues to invest in training his voice because I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to him or that beautiful silver voice 😍

when the group debuted jk singing skills was way better than others and he was the most stable one , jin didnt have any vocal experince to be main or lead vocal but now even jk said jin should be called main vocal too, , now jin and jk both are very stable, but still jk is more like the glue he is the most confident in his vocals and great with ad libs and ofc the link who link rap line and vocal line and all the vocal line with different unique voices .

Jungkook is the main vocalist because his voice can go from low to high and is very stable when dancing, Jin is a very great vocalist known for more of a powerful voice not too soft, but he still can have a soft voice, Jin isn’t my bias but I do think he should have more parts in songs. Being a main vocalist has a lot of responsibility, from backing vocals, ad-libs, all rounder and being stable throughout the performances and jk had this from the start maybe that's the reason he was chosen but did you know that some army's don't like him or still disregard him as a main vocalist?
