The important thing, the intro perform is all about 'Korean traditional Culture' not Japan. The big mask is symbol of lion. 'Idol' lyrics has Korean culture meaning and the music in here is edited with traditional instruments. Anyway Its unbelievable they can sing while dancing like that. They're so talented n practice so much. Im a Korean so plz understand my bad English ~*

@@penfordmedia You guys should react to IDOL Explained by a Korean by DkDKTV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f7Jng6ib0JfUqac.html They talk about all the Korean references in the song and MV. Also Airplane pt.2 is such a bop here is the lyric video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hMh1ZKuiu6qpeJ8.html and my favorite live performance of Airplane pt. 2 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNBjmNiEvqfYnpc.html. You guys can check out the MV too but it's the Japanese version. BTS release some songs in the Japanese language too. I wouldn't recommend reacting to it unless your extremely careful Japanese stuff is notorious for getting copyrighted or blocked. Here is the link Airplane pt. 2 Japanese MV kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ed6efclh2b3ZZGw.html personally I think the song sounds better in Korean. You guys should really check out another great bop Anpanman here is my favorite live performance kzfaq.info/get/bejne/orWWZJmLtqqolHk.html and also check out the live performance for Go Go kzfaq.info/get/bejne/br-giddlmKfVpp8.html

The production you've watched after Airplane pt2. was part of Korean Tradition and Culture. Those things you were asking are lions (Korean lion dance)If you noticed the music in Idol you will hear some background live playing korean traditional instruments which added more festivity atmosphere in their performance. The solo that was performed by the 3J was also part of Korean traditional dance. 3J are BTS dance lines Jimin & Jhope (main dancers) Jungkook(lead dancer) Jhope- traditional drum dance Jimin- traditional fan dance Jungkook- traditional mask dance. Jimin even received an award from the cultural conservation society for his epic fan dance. To add on, what they're also wearing is called "hanbok" a traditional korean attire being used in some festivals and ceremonies.

@@lyn4104 I don't want to offend, but these guys have been making reactions to BTS and other korean artists for quite a while to confuse cultures. Why would BTS have performed with japanese themes? I even thought would not have arisen that it is NOT Korean (on korean award show, with korean artists, in South Korea, singing in korean). lol \shrug\

@@maria_bers because bts adds all different kinds of cultures, and that's something they picked up on even though they are new. @@cynthianewman136 I don't hate them, just can't understand how it could be confused. visually it is even seen that this isn't japanese culture... For some reason, most people when they see or hear asians automatically decide that this is necessarily something japanese, less often chinese. but if they thought a little, read and watch what all the army request them, then there would be no such mistake) yes, it triggers me a little) Sometimes it seems to me that they deliberately ignore all comments where the army is asked to watch explanation of the mv or song. But all the answers are in them) everything is simple. and again, I don't hate them.

The intro before idol, it was Korean traditional culture. All the performances were Korean. The girls dancing with jhope, the performance jimin did with the fans and the one jungkook did also. The guys that came out, I think were dragons or lions are all apart of their Korean culture. I'm not aware of what any of the performances are called.

0앨리스 Lmfao girl you know that isn’t true. Tell me one country that is more similar to Korea than Japan. Korean and Japanese culture almost all of it came from China. You guys used Hanja till the 50s 💀(Japan still uses many Chinese characters). There are so many words that sound the same between the two languages. Age hierarchy /bowing is a big part of both. Not losing face, working extremely hard, and Confucius values exist in both. Sushi/kimbap, noodles/ramen. Even in the MMA performance, drums and fans are a big part of Japanese culture. As well as the lion originated from Chinese dragons. You koreans always act like you’re so different from Japan or China, it’s all Oriental culture. Maybe you’ll realize how similar you guys are when you live in a foreign country. People all view you as Asian.
@jesusyejin
@jesusyejin 4 жыл бұрын
@LIT Your comments can be summed up by saying that you have no idea about East Asian history. I admit that people like you(who don't know much about the East)can see Japan and Korea as similar. But if I repeat your comment with a slight change, it's the same thing as saying that France and Italy are the same. On the macro level, Japan, Korea, and China belong to East Asia, so they have a similar culture because of their active exchange. But if you take a closer look, you will see that the three countries have different cultural identities. We use different language, history, and so on. And I want to tell you to be careful in the future, especially when talking about the relationship between Japan and Korea. It has not been 100 years since Korea was liberated from Japanese colonial rule. And Japan is not apologizing or making any compensation for it. There is a big movement in Korea not to buy Japanese goods even now, due to Japan's rude attitude. So to most Koreans, there are no more ignorant words than to say that Japan and Korea are almost alike. As a Korean, I wanted the world to know more about our precious traditional culture, which was protected from Japan's persistent oppression, and thankfully BTS portrayed it beautifully with music. So I recommend you to study more about Eastern history.

BTS is on another level with their singing, dancing, and lyrics. But once you've been to a BTS concert, you wouldn't want to see other groups. Their company BigHit spends a lot of money on their productions, it's off the charts. I highly recommend you guys to go see them live.

19:10 this performance actually introduces cultural Korean dances and traditions. They did it in part to show the haters that they haven’t forgotten their Korean roots. It’s a pretty awesome showcase of mixing tradition with modern music. And while Korean traditions may be similar to Japanese or Chinese traditions because of similar roots, there are differences when one takes the time to look/study and I love how they (bts) bring it to the forefront.

Jungkooks voice which you commented on how good he sounded is exactly why he’s the main vocalist.... all our vocalists are amazing and may even have better range than he does... but that kid can adapt like nothing I’ve ever seen before and his voice is so powerful and stable... doesn’t miss a note or ever sound tired... it’s insane. Like here you can hear how different his voice is and how much control he has while having the most parts and still somehow sounds so smooth and perfect. It’s his strength... each and every member has something that they do better than anybody else... they find a way to fill those spots for each other and I think their bond as brothers really makes them extremely special... they’re BTS first and not the individuals... but all of them have their forte that they contribute... they really are incredible every member!!

The intro on their last performance is definitely based on their own culture which is Korean, all of the solo performances: Jhope, Jimin, and Jungkook are from their country’s traditions. Antis are saying out there that they are too westernized so this is what they did. BTS slapped them with a world class performance that is purely based on their own culture. MIC DROP.

Wow....they really don't know about Korea. Even they had been reacted BTS mv and watching BTS videos even they know about what Kpop means..... does it look like Korea has not tradition?? Whenever people say like "Japanese" and "China" things, it makes my heart break. When BTS released IDOL, made their album about music for Identity, make tradition instruments sounds. I don't say like "more study". But I would say, respect their culture.

At the beginning of the performance the spaces they all danced in spelled "Persona". It was a hint to their newest album which is called "Map of the soul: Persona". They are incredibly creative when it comes to these sort of hints and easter eggs and it's like a thing for us ARMY's to discuss all of them and try to figure out what they mean😂

In the 3rd performance did u not notice them switching members when it started🤔jhope was dancing with the girls then it went to Jimin with fan and then it went to jungkook with the white rag..then jungkook threw the mask signaling the Korean culture number

for this 1 ...20 min performance they bighit (bts company) spend around 270k USD !!!!! lets not count their other outfit cost in that Award or it will hurt!!! lolzzz they arrange all those additional elements ..... and those traditional dancers... BTS really work hard for this.... they never compromise to give their best

Thanks for the reaction! 💜 Don’t worry too much about the mistakes you’re new to the culture and that’s okay! I’m not Korean myself but I learned so much from watching BTS content and reading comments from kind and helpful ARMYs. I think it’s great that you guys are trying to learn more and respect it! I know it’s not intended but some comments sound more belittling than informational, the point of reactions is to be exposed to new things and that’s what these guys are doing. Try not to say things like “I can’t believe you don’t know this yet” or “do research before making a video” that can be very discouraging. They are always praising and giving love to the boys so we should give them love and support too! I say this with no kind of malice so I hope no one in the comments takes this the wrong way, ARMYs have been really kind and I hope we all continue to be in the future! I purple you 💜💜💜

I know it's going to take some time since they are ALWAYS changing their hair colors, but it'll make it a better reaction and experience for YOURSELVES to be able to point out who is who and their individual talents. Don't get discouraged, it took me a whole month to figure out that Jin and Jungkook weren't the same person. Tyvm for all the honest and humble reactions. I can tell you REALLY appreciate them. Also...the whole Billboard Award winner announcement is played over and over because it was such a big moment for all of us. Fun fact: The whole speech and the announcement part are part of the Love Yourself Her album. I actually have it on my Spotify playlist, which I admit is kind of weird, but it gives me a feeling when I hear it. Even though at this point I say the whole speech while RM says it.
