Though he acts like he don't like all this affection and love showered on him but he like it. We can see that. He have soft spot for Tae. He always encourage and support him and never let him down. Guys, a little background information as you still don’t know enough about V. First the term ‘I purple you’ ‘Borahae’ was coined by V and became a thing. It’s now in the dictionary and Hybe has made 3 attempts to register the phrase as a trademark, only to be rejected by the Association which informed Hybe that the phrase belongs to V. Second, the song you heard regarding 2018 is called Blue & Grey. The song is off the BE album. It’s was written and produced by V for his mixtape. The members loved it so much that they asked for it to be a group song. The original song was all in English, V then rewrote the song in Korean for the group with the rap line writing their own verses. Blue & Grey was the most successful B side by BTS on release and as a result was included on the set list for the concerts. V originally wrote this song to help him get over his depression. He said he was able to let go of his sad feelings by writing this song and move on. He wanted it to help people going through depression to be able to talk about it and help them overcome it. Regarding 2018, V had an insane schedule from 2016 to 2018 as he was acting in a drama while still carrying out his BTS duties and concerts in 2016. Over the next couple of years he lost his grandmother and then his grandfather. He was on tour (Philippines, I think) when his grandmother passed away and had to perform at the time. His grandmother raised him so it hit V even hard. And during the 2018 era, V had the hardest schedule for the concerts. His set list back to back included all intense group songs with heavy dance routine songs and his solo Singularity. I remember at one point the members agreed to cut a group song to help him deal with the exhaustion, especially as he has a skin disorder that affects him if his body temperature goes up. Suffice it to say, that all of this would have piled up on him emotionally and with the exhaustion made it harder for V to manage. All the members were exhausted at the time and it was heartbreaking to see, but V and Jk took it the hardest (being the youngest) and that’s why Suga wrote that letter to both of them. In a recent clip of the Disney documentary, V mentioned that regardless of the dealing with the company (I don’t think it was good between him and the company) he decided to sign the new contract to make the members happy. It sounds like he really wasn’t ready to continue based on what he was going through. Thankfully, he got over that, signed and is now in a good place and really enjoying himself as a member. The hyungs really helped by getting everyone to talk about it. As they said after V got over it RM was the next going through it. Clearly was still going through it in the last festa and the lyrics of WildFlower are heartbreaking after seeing RM in that Festa. I think it was the 5th Muster where RM told us that he was so down he didn’t even want to go on stage and that talking to V helped motivate him to go on stage. It was really sweet that V didn’t leave RM’s side throughout that concert. The members really are supportive of each other and that’s why his group is special.

To touch on Daniel’s question on what could have possibly change from the boys’ burnout back in 2018 that almost led to their disbandment to now - there really wasn’t any change in how hard they work or how packed their schedules were. Even during the pandemic they worked nonstop. They only got the 2nd break in their almost a decade career (then) after their PTD concert in Dec 2022. But to help shed clarity to the question (and it was a good discussion among CCW) it was more of self realization for BTS. They talked about this in their book. Each of them went through a hard time but none of them had the courage then to voice out they wanted to quit because they knew BTS would not be BTS with one member missing. So each of them picked themselves up and decided to try again mainly because of their love for ARMY and each other. Hobi said in the book, things just fell into place again after their Fake Love BBMA performance despite slowly they regained their self motivation. It was really a sad case of being mentally and physically exhausted added to the pressure of all the success they were getting. I’m always thankful they decided to stick together and continue. And so we were gifted with their presence and their amazing music 💜

1:32 “you know who isn’t a waiter?” well, taehyung actually did become a restaurant intern at one point 😂 he did this series called jinny’s kitchen where they put korean celebrities together and make them try and put up a restaurant and do all the work like managing the business, cooking, waiting tables and such. this was set up in Mexico. tae was assigned at the back kitchen as an intern which is kinda like the lowest position in the employee hierarchy cause he’s just new and the other guys were already in the previous seasons. he was with his real-life buddies, actors park seojun and choi woo shik. and their dynamic as friends and employees in the show was hilarious!!!

Their schedule was PACKED in 2019/2019. The billboard nomination and win in 2017 really skyrocketed their career to a high level they never expected. It was the best years for them career wise, but when you aren't mentally prepared for such success and attention that they were receiving, you are bound to collapse under pressure. They got no time off, no rest, constantly travelling, constantly promoting and working on their albums. They finished one comeback, nd were already doing another. Adding to the physical load, the mental load of being the centre of attention from both US and Korea must've been scary. They were on new territory, they were being loved as much as hated. I remember so much happened that time it was overwhelming for the fandom too. Looking back now, I don't know how they kept themselves together, it must've taken so much courage, strong will and loyalty towards their team and fans to want to keep going. So many to mention about this episode. When V was the hidden member and finally revealed, I noticed Suga was very protective of V - like he always made sure he was included in pictures, they always listened to V's comments and suggestions, he always was defending V whenever they wanted to start teasing him and his Taetae language ( V's brain goes so fast that when he talks it comes out as gibbrish). I love the V/Yoongi bond. The song that was playing that you didn't know about was Blue & Grey from the BE album. Tae wrote the song in all English and he wrote it during a depressing time. WHen the members heard it - they wanted it included in the BE album which was made for Army during Covid. So it was written to include now all members and with the verses written for the rap line and other in Korean. Also - when they were all burnt out, V planned an outing for all of them for them to relax and recharge. They said V plans a lot of trips for the group, so I am not surprised if he plans the Northern Lights trip. V is very thoughtful and really considers everyone's details, he is very good in reading the members (BV 1 bag prank). RM once said V really takes care of the members. This episode is so his vibe, sentimental and laid back! So glad you watched this!

"I PURPLE YOU/ BORAHAE" was coined by TAEHYUNG at their 2016 HYYH concert. Since then BTS and Army's official colour is Purple and "I Purple You" became bts & Army's way of expressing love & adoration for eachother. V actually made that up on the spot and said it casually back then but the fandom took it seriously. Later, after a few years when he was asked about it he said that he was shocked and never thought it would become this humongous. The expression "I purple you" was acknowledged by Unicef and was used for their campaign as a tag line. It also became "One of the most influential expressions" ever coined by a musician. BTS also jokes that Bighit & Hybe should give V royalties for it.

It was originally in english and was kinda like a compilation of his feelings he wrote in his diary. But later when they were preparing their "Be" album, they felt that it would fit perfectly in the album and was translated back to Korean with some lyrics being changed and the rap line add their own raps. It is a masterpiece and one of my comfort songs. You guys should totally check it out💜
