"They're good people" "they're real" THAT is what makes BTS different and special than all other current (and some former) popular musicians. They're authentic. They're humble. They speak they're truth. They're unafraid to live conference with ARMY just as they are (no make-up or dress up) just as you and I would with our friends/family. They ARE YOU AND ME AND EVERYONE ELSE and that's how they individually chose but also were guided by Bang PD to BE. They see themselves as regular folks who have a job to perform in front of others - NOT as Divas or "special" (like so many in the U.S. market who are fakes and some even with criminal records, in it to make a quick buck and get out).

In the Nov 24 episode of Smartless, hosted by actors Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, McCartney admitted that he liked watching BTS. He said, “I couldn’t sing one of their songs but I like them”. McCartney was asked whether they were any current music acts that he listens to that showed “that true artistry” for which the Beatles were known. He responded, “For me, it’s not really because of the music like it is for the fans, but for me, it’s (about) just seeing some young kids go through what we went through. BTS - Korean guys. I like watching them and seeing what’s going on. I think they’re good”.

I am not adverse to having hidden BTS charitable donations being uncovered by the media because there are many in ARMY who will subsequently upon learning of the donation follow suit and also donate to the same charity. This unsolicited matching is one of the more beautiful aspects of ARMY investment in BTS.

The phenomenon that is BTS happened outside of traditional labels, media promotion and the backing of recording academies which is why so many people are only discovering them since their English songs were released. The power of their grassroots fan base and how protective they are of them is a direct response to the treatment they received from the establishment

It's been said that ARMYs raised them. OGs used to send them food and clothing when their fridge was empty. Their parents also sacrificed alot to make this happen, in spite of opposing them for doing music initially. Their rise is really a good vs. evil story. How they manage to still be humble is inspiring, celebs in their position would party, show off their bling, houses, cars and women. These dorks would just live stream with ARMYs instead

@@kw6180 Also, the fact BTS decided to put their trust in Army rather than to sign with a big Western label to shoot them to the top, just amazes me every time. Honestly, I am NOT one of the people that were "healed" by BTS. For the past five years, I have seen them as artists that make good music and a great way to update my playlist everytime they drop an album because I know it's gonna be good quality. For a long time, I found it strange to see people talk about how BTS saved their lives because I couldn't understand how that would be possible, but since there were more and more people talking about their deep connection with BTS, I decided to just believe it. Just because I haven't felt it doesn't mean that it's not true for other people, so yeah. I find that quite wholesome to be honest haha. Personally, I'm just happy that BTS is a part of my life, even if it's a very small part 💜
@IThink2Much
@IThink2Much 2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome that you are choosing to believe other people when they relate their experiences even though you haven't experienced it yourself. Not everyone is that open-minded. I, personally, was pulled out of my depression by BTS at the end of 2020, but kdramas also played a part. The messages in Korean shows tend to be completely different than what you find in western shows. My Korean voice teacher recommended a particular kdrama and I was hooked from then on. I watch more Korean shows now than English-language shows. But the kdramas led me to give BTS a chance and I am so glad I did. Their music and their story is just so inspirational. They've worked so hard to become who they are and it makes you want to be a better person, too. That's my perspective anyway. 😊

I can tell you my own experience… two years ago I was in a deep depression moment and appear on my KZfaq a BTS video. I knowed the band only for its name but I never listen them, so I clicked on that video and saw some BTS moment that made me laugh, so I started to research other funny videos of them and they became the only one able to make me laugh. I started to listen their song, to make me feel loved, to explain me how I must love myself, how others opinions aren’t important, and I felt understand and better. I wasn’t able to sleep because when a stayed alone with my thoughts I only thought about my fear of dead, but I started to listen their song for sleeping and I was able to sleep again. I re-started to eat, to sleep, to smile and to live. It’s strange, I don’t know how or why but they really save my life. People say BTS come in your life when you need them and for me it was true, they give me another beginning, maybe because they are so pure and real and always spread good messages and have a lot of love for each other and for Army ❤️ i felt and feel like I am in a big hug

When my dad died because of covid, the only music I found myself listening to was BTS music. Whenever I feel my heart hurts because of the pain of losing someone you love, I find myself watching Run BTS and bon voyage. Me, my sister and mom would always watch their new videos as our bonding and we find ourselves laughing and bonding instead of crying and hurting because our situation has changed. It has been a year since my dad died and we were able to move forward not just from the support of our friends and families but also bec BTS gave us the positive influence that moving on is not easy but it is doable one step at a time. If that's not healing, I don't know what is. I'm 32 and married and my husband let's me love BTS even though he was not really having it before my dad died. After that, he found me laughing and singing which also helped him helped me cope with the lost. He is now an ARMY too,low-key yes but I'm super grateful for it.

I get your perspective on giving in silence and before the pandemic I would’ve agreed but having participated in the Black Lives Matter drive both before BTS’s donation was publicized and later as part of ARMY, I gotta say that raising that million in a day was an amazing collaboration of thousands that would never have happened in that way if a lot of things didn’t come together and definitely not without the media reporting on BTS’s donation. Without that initial spark of inspiration from BTS, many non American ARMY might not have engaged with the movement and wouldn’t have even been made aware of it. One in An ARMY, one of the main charity drive organizers had already mobilized but news of BTS’ donation really kicked things into hyperdrive with so many people enthusiastic to match a million. There was electricity in the air. People were marching and army Twitter was buzzing and the energy from that momentum was almost tangible. It was awe inspiring to see the numbers climb. So I can now appreciate that there are some benefits to publicizing charity work.

I adore that you've added Korean subtitles for Korean ARMY. You didn't have to do that but you did and it shows not only how interested and invested youre becoming in BTS but also how genuinely appreciative you two feel about ARMYs embracing. I'm from The Netherlands, I don't speak Korean and statistically most ARMY have to be international but we all rely heavily on our Korean ARMY (and bi/multilingual ARMYs) friends to translate and explain content for us. BTS and their company do a good job with translations these days but that wasn't the case early on. Not their fault, of coarse, as they didn't know how huge they would become. But putting Korean subtitles in your videos is an amazing way to show gratitude as Baby ARMY members. Thank you for this 💜 Edit: watching the video about their hardships is incredibly important but also upsetting. Many new ARMYs become angry by the prejudice and hardships they've had to face. Please keep in mind that they've grown in spite of those hardships and are happy and healthy now. Also, please consider watching bts_gadsaursan video series about the members. Its called 'introduction To BTS' and it has 8 videos but i think you can skip part 1 if you want (its just basic group info youve mostly covered). It will give you even more insight to the boys themselves and their unique characteristics.

It was different and nothing I'd ever seen before. But soon, I found my young teenage self falling in love with the lyrics and the band. I think the coolest thing about BTS is that they've accomplished all this while singing primarily in Korean - it's not easy to achieve what they have no matter what, but they did it without the privilege of being english speakers, white, or American. It just goes to show how powerful their music and message is, and how genuine the connection between them and their audience is.

They have given out blankets to every attendee at a concert once so fans wouldn’t be cold. At their SoFi concert one day they gave out free water to everyone as the fans were standing around 8-10 hours in the heat for purchasing merchandise and waiting for concert to start. so that's why i proud to be a part of an army. there are more kpop music who can be as good as bts, but after knowing everythings about bts, i know why BTS are the BIGGEST band in the world right now and become the king of kpop, they deserve it. they're hard to be on top like they are right now, so they're also hard to get beaten. cause they are bulletproof :) their achievements are the most important thing as an artists. people can sing, dance, and did anything like bts did, but have a lot of achievements as bts have, that's what makes bts really hard to get beaten by the other kpop idols. and that's the fact that people have to accepted that. that's what makes BTS are diff by the others :) they're clear from the criminal things, clear from any scandals since they're debut, they're just focus being an idols who're not only singing and dancing, but showing their kindness in silent so they're spread the positive energy to the people. and maybe that's why harry styles, liam payne, justin bieber, ariana grande, elton john, and many more western artists pu their respect to bts. :)

Not just BTS, ARMY as a fandom is actually the biggest fandom to come together for good causes, there's many army organised events and fund raisers throughout the year, it's really incredible how BTS's message can have such influence on their fans. when it comes to fandom culture, ppl mostly focus on the social media stan culture, the fanwars, the toxic fans, so much that this has became a definition of fandom culture but armys are really giving a new direction/dimension to what the fandom culture should be about but sadly they're hardly appreciated/encouraged for their efforts coz like i said the typical fandom culture on social media with fandom fights and teenage girls is what is usually highlighted to the world.

The more you get to know them, the more you will love them. They are truly amazing people on top of being amazing performers and artists. Some people question why they have such a loyal and protective fan base. The reason is because we love them, not just their music, but them as people. And we have seen everything they have been through and how hard they have had to fight to get where they are. They have a habit of breaking records. Just yesterday the Guinness Book of World Records announced that they broke 13 records this year alone, brining their total to 25. They have a full page spread in the 2022 Guinness Book of World Records and are considered part of the Hall of Fame. It really is incredible to see where they started and where they are now, but the most amazing part is that they are still so humble. I loved your reaction, as usual. You guys are awesome. Have a great day. Borahae 💜

BTS is love. Them, the fandom, all of it. ARMY also often donates as a fandom. For example when Megan thee stallion had to pay $100k in legal fees to sue her company to let her release Butter with BTS, ARMY donated $100k to women empowering charities in her name. Also, ARMY and other kpop fandoms flooded white supremacy hashtags with kpop pictures to disrupt the hate speech. Anyway, BTS genuinely love each other and their fans and the love in return is real and palpable.

BTS are well aware of the power they hold and try their best to use it for good. Little things like JK going on vlive and the things he drinks or wears get sold out. He is very conscious of what he tells people about and has used it before to get people to show support for small business or charity. Little things like that which all the members do show just how much they truly care.

As you dive in to RUN BTS you'll see how down-to-earth they still are. Obviously, they are insanely famous and have money. But, you'd never know it, by how competitive they can get for free food or gift cards. They are very funny. Hope you continue to enjoy learning about them and following their journey.

Once you go into the rabbit hole, there is no chance you cannot fall in love with their personalities. Run BTS started as very short stints of comedic pranks and turned into one hour long lovefests (karaoke, escape rooms, challenges, scavenger hunts etc.) with these 7 crackheads. Bon Voyage where they went on vacation in different countries and RM's never ending tale of loosing his passports. And last but not least In The Soop (in the forest) also a vacation show but at one place where the guys are just their nerdy/cracky/weird ways and it is hilarious!!! Oh and of course the whole Bangtan Bombs which is in the backcatalogue of their official youtube channel. There are even ARMY who like their music, but like their video content even more and there is lots of it. Map of the Soul 7 was their last FULL album released at the beginning of 2020 with 4.5 million sales worldwide. However, their mini BE (7 songs) came out at the end of 2020 and had 3.7 million album sales worldwide. The last three albums sold over 3 million each worldwide.

that's what i like from bts and also the entire army. cause we can see a lot of talented kpop idols as good as bts. but none of it can be MORE BETTER than bts. cause when u both know more and more about bts, y'all gonna say they have all of the manners and the achievement that some of it only bts who have it all. their not only an ordinary boyband from korea, they're more than that. their kindness, their manners, their hardwork as a team deserve this much appreciated from the entire armies. up and down things they've been through A LOT since 2013 untill right now. get racists by people, accused of plagiarism when the facts finally revealed that they're not, got too many hate comments everywhere, multiple death threats also, and yeah being hated by thousands people, when they're being like that for no reason. but bts don't break easily just by that, as like their song "we are bulletproof", yes they are bulletproof, and also waterproof, lol. they just keep scoring achievements more and more until the haters get pissed off and say "why always bts?" "why everywhere is about bts". well... cause bts never get in any criminal things or any scandals since their debut. they're just focus as a boyband from korea who're become the most famous k-pop idols in this era. so no wonder bts become THE BIGGEST boyband in the world now. and now u guys know that their talents not only singing and dancing. yeah the other kpop idols have their great music, but we can't close our eyes to bts who paved the way to the world know about kpop music after they're become the biggest kpop idol in these era. back in the days, people who knew about kpop music were not as much as now when BTS is getting more and more famous. i can say maybe 90% people on earth know kpop from the bts fame. they're not only the winner in korean music awards, but also the winner from some of western music awards who're not all of the other kpop idols can have 'em. you can search on google "How many achievements do BTS have?" and that's the biggest number than the other kpop idols. after all of that, they deserve to be praised and appreciated by people, because the "kpop world" is very strict, a little mistake can seriously threaten their career. but 8 years bts struggling from the entire kpop idols, now they can be in the top position of Number 1 band in Korea and the king of kpop in this era. so when somebody ask me, "why you appreciate bts that much?" all i can say is "cause their achievements". their face, their voice, their music, MAYBE anyone can beat that. but their achievements isn't easily to get beaten. before i know bts, I LOVE one direction so much, my teenage world full of one direction, but now i love both of them. cause one direction is the biggest boyband from england, The Beatles are Legends, and BTS is the biggest boyband from Korea. here i talk about BTS and K-pop music industry. but according to the fact, BTS is the biggest band in the world right now :) that's cause our teamwork from Bang Si-Hyuk to BTS and BTS to the Army :) so yeah that's it, welcome to the bts world, hope you guys enjoyed to the part of army :) can't wait to see you guys watch RUN BTS for free on VLIVE, watching they're on vacation in BON VOYAGE season 1 2 3 4 on WEVERSE (not for free but worth to see), and watch BTS IN THE SOOP. (SOOP meaning forest in Korean. they're vacation in the woods, where the seven members spend time doing leisure activities on their days off. the members will create their own schedules to enjoy their hobbies). stay healthy and happy y'all, borahae :)

I agree about the giving in silence but also them uncovering is also a good thing because if you see how ARMY mobilizes behind charities that BTS supports it only increases what it is given so in most cases for most artists not saying it is better because they don’t have a fan base like ARMY that comes out in the millions with money out of their pockets as Halsey once said “imagine if everyone’s fans were like that and what a better world this place would be.” BTS is highly regarded in the Korean government because BTS is a soft power and that soft power is used for good because of who BTS is as people and the things in which they do.

I love that you are delving into the other type of content to get to know their story and personalities too! I’ll leave a bit of practical advice for the other content that Armys loves to watch reactions for: 1. Run BTS is a good idea to get to know their humour. This content is released by them on Vlive and Weverse (with subtitles) free of charge which means you can react to it on KZfaq without any copyright issues. It’s a gift from BTS to Armys to spread positive energy and a good laugh. Please consider that in the beginning they had absolutely no budget and they didn’t have any experience as reality show entertainers so the first few episodes can feel a bit cringey. Also, there’s like 160 episodes so it might take you years to get to some of the fan favourites. I would suggest asking Armys to recommend their favs and pick out of those to start with. Ep 24 is BTS getting scared s**tless on a zombie run, it’s one of the most requested and only about half an hour long. Ep 25 is them playing with dogs, it’s cute and again quite short. Ep 32 is a Christmas episode and the first one where they introduce the concept of “spies”, which will become super fun later on when they start their roleplaying episodes, for example ep 120, 121, 145, 146, 147 is them dressed up in traditional Korean clothing, playing roles in ancient South Korea’s archaeological sites with a mystery to be solved and hints along the way. They are my favs. We as an audience get to play with them to figure out the mystery. Then it depends on what you like, there’s water games, arcade episodes, cooking eps, playing with clay, flowers, literal toys, and another fav of mine is debates episodes, literally debating if milk should be added before or after cereals during your breakfast while being sprayed water when they use forbidden words/gestures. 2. Bon Voyage is quite literally a variety show where they travel to other countries. The funny part especially in the first few seasons is that they basically have no idea what they are doing, and they can’t speak a word of English apart from RM so even something simple like realizing you have left your bag on a bus turns into a huge event where they literally get in touch with the South Korean embassy, it’s hilarious. But the most beautiful thing is watching them grow, in the 4th season they basically camp in new Zealand all on their own without any help from staff and it’s beautiful. This content is paid content, so you probably will have to put it on your Patreon or you need to cut your reaction to bits or cover the video with a logo or something. 3. In the Soop, same as Bon Voyage, it’s paid content so Patreon or edited video. In the Soop is the “pandemic” alternative to Bon Voyage, they can’t travel anymore and even without the virus, travelling is starting to become harder for them as they simply get recognized everywhere they go at this point, so they need security with them pretty much 24/7 and filming your normal everyday life content is extra hard. In the Soop basically is them chilling in some remote countryside area in South Korea where they spend the day eating, chatting, and playing. It’s extremely relaxing, many Armys love this kinda content because it is considered healing content. In fact, the second season of In the Soop came out recently and was a huge success. 4. The final thing you could look into to learn about their personalities are crack videos, there’s some masterful channels on KZfaq run by Armys who create their edited videos of most interesting moments from all of their shows and interviews. There’s a crack BTS video for anything you can think of. Some of the most famous ones are: “Namjoon being done with everything”, which is basically a compilation of BTS trying to express themselves in English during interviews when they first went to America and RM dying inside as the spokesperson who is trying to present a serious image, or “BTS taking over America” or “BTS chose CHAOS in the US”, there’s countless try not to laugh challenge videos and then there’s individual members’ videos if you want to get to know each of them specifically.
