I suspect that Suga totally understands English and can speak some but doesn't want anyone to know because they will expect him to speak in English like RM. Suga seems like such an introvert lol. I love them trying to understand and speak English. I don't often watch their lives until after they are uploaded with subtitles though because I just can't understand them and it frustrates me that I can't understand. Would never tell them to speak in English like I have seen so many people on lives do. They are more comfortable speaking their native language and lives are stressful enough for them, I am sure . I am trying to learn Korean so I can understand stuff when they are live but it has been slow going for me. Learning a new language can be difficult if you don't have the natural skill for it. I have been trying for almost 3 years and can only manage to introduce myself, say thank you and hello and know some random words. Music crosses borders but knowing English would definately make it easier for international reach. I live in Canada and tried for 9 years to learn French and still can't speak or understand it. I just don't have a knack for language but I am still trying.

They have improved so much!! 🙌💜 Namjoon as always killing it. The other members definitely understand better and their pronunciation is better as well but I feel some members are like shy to speak in English which is something really important to practice but since they have to do a lot of activities in other countries they still have to use English anyways. I feel like the ones who understand better now is definitely Yoongi and Hobi. Seokjin too and idk if it's also bc he used to study on Australia for a couple of months or not, but I've noticed he understands really well since debut and he's the member that have showed us through the years that he can keep an English conversation the best even if his pronounciatiob is not the perfect and is broke English. About pronunciation Jungkook and Hobi are really good. Taehyung and Yoongi too. I feel like Jimin is good to but he's one of the members most shy about speaking the language but he has improved a lot in both aspects. Who would imagine he doing a full English interview alone on Jimmy Fallon?? I'm so proud of him! 💜

They have improved alot now. I love that they are always confident when they speak it. Honestly, kudos to them because its not easy to speak a language you didn't always speak. I'm trying to learn a few words in Korean language and its fun

Yes, language definitely plays a great role in terms of the reach of a group, however, that is exactly one of the reasons why BTS has conquered/surprised the world, because they had broken down the language barrier and keep getting bigger despite it. Their english has improved a lot but tbh, despite me having a love-hate relationship with subtitles, I find their lack of english completely endearing and adorable. It's actually the other way around--- I want to learn Korean because of how beautiful they communicate in their native language and to get the jokes and wordplay that they (esp Jin) are so good at. haha I can only imagine how much bigger they're gonna get once they become fluent in English. They're pretty good in Japanese and Chinese though. Also, I think SUGA understands and is fluent in English but just doesnt say so. I remember watching his concert in Singapore where he corrected the translator. haha

The group andTEAM has Korean, Japanese, English, Chinese and German between them. And there is an English academy in Inchon specifically for girls who will be kpop idols, it combines English with media training. There’s probably a boys equivalent but I don’t know of it.

I think you have to have watched the episodes to understand what is going on whether or not you speak Korean. Most of us fans have probably watched every Run BTS episode 2 or more times, so as soon as I see which one, I knew just what they are doing and start laughing. It is just amazing how funny they are altogether. You know it isn't scripted because it is so natural the way they pick on each other, or comfort each other.

They all do a wonderful job communicating. As someone who is bilingual ( English/ Spanish), it's wonderful. Language is NOT a communication barrier. Body language and facial expressions go a very long way, no matter where you are in the world.

Tru if the language barrier is broken for Kpop or any group whether it be Western nvm scratch that America seems to be too closed minded to learn another language when they travel to other countries they want everyone to speak their English when they're in non-english country. Ben NCT 127 has members from different places including Tokyo, Canada and the U.S. so they speak many different languages. So does Wayv which is another sub unit of NCT. One of the members speaks 7-different languages by himself. I think Wayv is the most verstile group of NCT as far as languages does. Stay Kids do speak some but I don't know how well.

The most recent K-pp stars do speak more English. Just compare BTS to TXT. They all seem to be fluent in English, at least understanding it. I think some just feel awkward speaking it because they are not confident. My parent's mother tongue is a different language and I understand it but feel funny about speaking it because I say it with an American accent, plus I don't speak it well. But, if I speak it enough or am surrounded by that language like with relative, I get better at speaking it.
