out defensing Hbox and out offencing mango

Idk maybe the community finally grew up and stopped hating on time outs because people still get grumpy when H box times someone out. Leads to discussions of people complaining about someone not playing optimally then they complain about playing optimally. of course this isn't everyone, but lots of people in the peanut gallery seem to think of themselves as top players.

@@ryanrothman3862 Yea, Time outs really started with Mew2king and extended from there. Puff is just one of the best at them and then they made a rule to prevent stalling using the ledge invulnerability. I just dislike how people bitch about someone winning the game and then cheer when someone they dislike losses. Seems like everyone wants the game to be played in such a way that they have an advantage. Was happy to see Amsa get the win over Mango, but just thought I point out the hypocrisy.

@@jessespence696 The Hbox timeout hate was usually because of degenerate ledge stalling for minutes on end. This was a "proper" timeout where they were fighting the whole way through. No one has a problem with the latter.

Absolutely. HBox has made a career out of timing people out, and timed out Amsa multiple times in the past so it was so nice to see Amsa give it back to that bitch

Yes. Last time they played, Amsa was visibly pissed that hbox kept putting up the b air wall and not approaching. This time Amsa put much more eggs out, even at the ledge which he normally gentlemans not to do. I'm sure he came in this game ready to play passive if he had to, to win.

There is nothing to improve. Hbox should've checked himself since the website, discord and on Twitter all said it starts at 11. They can't find the alleged person that told Hbox so staff did everything perfect themselves.

Literally no evidence that this happened, hbox wasn't even able to identify this "staff member" that told him that. The tournament schedule is pretty easy to find, especially for someone who literally is getting paid to compete for over 10 years at this point.

The ledge grab limit at TBH was 60. He wasn't even close my guy... That's probably why the possibility never occurred to anyone...

@@BobbyReborn He's never gone over the limit. On record, the closest someone's gotten to it is Zain. Marth, Yoshi, Puff, and Sheik like to grab ledge a lot.

There are two data points in this equation, and nobody ever really keeps track of either of them: how many times somebody has grabbed ledge, and what the limit IS within any given tournament. When idbw tried to call hbox on the grab limit in GOML, there was a whole lot of confusion as to what the limit was (hbox thought the limit was 45, which was pretty darn close to his 36 in the first game, even though the limit turned out to be 80). With Yoshi's eggstall, and with the way that the rules change from one tournament to another, I'm just saying it's not hard to imagine amsa running afoul of such a rule over the course of a full 8 minutes. (Not that it changes anything, but I'm super hyped that amsa won, by the way; not trying to take anything away from the guy)

Let's be fair, Hbox is in no way, shape or form required to give people matchup knowledge against himself. I understand it's kinda lame, but if that gives people an edge over you, why would you ever want to give people the keys to success that they can't find against you on their own?

@@4sfield527 Nobody's saying Hbox HAS to play friendlies with people, play to win. But when you have that attitude in a game that started out largely grassroots with top players helping advance the game and playing friendlies with each other all the time, and you yourself refuse to play friendlies with people (and even try to get other puff players NOT to play friendlies with top players), then people are gonna rightfully call you lame and that's entirely on you. (Also he's a hypocrite because when he was bad at the game in 2020, IBDW offered to play friendlies with him and help him improve, but now that it's 2022 and he's good again Hbox refuses to play friendlies with him, sooo...)

@@blooburryz6887 no doubt that is definitely shitty with the double standard. I was moreso putting myself in Hbox's unique position if I were in his shoes. That being said, I would absolutely play friendlies even if I was goated at a character nobody else labs on.

sudden death isn't used because some characters have a way easier time winning in sudden death compared to others and using sudden death would give an incentive to camp to the person who is losing.
