Bua Ji Ke Gehna (बुआ जी के गहना) is an adaptation of Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay's novel, Goynar Baksho revolves around a matriarch of a Bengali Hindu family who becomes so obsessed with her secret jewellery box that she rises from her grave to make sure that her niece-in-law protects it from the other relatives.

Heart touching movie. Love it. Kabhi kabhi eisa karna padta hain. Rishtey nibhane k khatir dil mein dheere dheere jagi huwi pyar ko daba kar rakhna padta hain. Aur jab akele mein uski yaad aati hain toh woh pyar ek dard ban jata hain. Sab ki acting specially Mouchumi ji aur Kankana ji ki acting bht hi acchi lagi. ❤❤❤

Seriously, the wife accepted and loved her quite elderly husband from the first day. She missed her and cried when he was away. Then suddenly, a man, muslim above all, started chasing her. She felt nothing about him more than a stranger. And the Bua provokes her, enticing her absent emotion for the stranger and makes her believe his love . So, a younger age wife finally dragged into believing then accepting an emotion which was not present in the first place 😶😶😶😶😶😶😶??

It was not necessary to spoil the character. Many historical figures married little girl and child marriage is a different issue for debate. But sudden hormonal rush for a unknown man in the road is something not praiseworthy. Seems like the ghost of Pishima satisfied her own desire through Somlata's body.

Mousumi Chatterjee as pisima is ❤. But I have a problem with the name. "Gehno Ka Baksa" would be apt for this dubbed version as the original bengali movie name is "Goynar Baksho". Else it should be "Bua Ji Ke Gehne" not "Bua Ji Ke Gehna".

though the pishima( bua ji) is disgusting ......but please try to understand the context .....she became a widow at the age of 11-12 and had to eat boiled vegetable and rice only once a day .....and probably milk and water at night for the rest of her life till the age of approximately 70 ....... she had to endure celibacy involuntarily despite being extremely pretty in her youth ....... had to dress in white and cut her hair short .......all that lead to extreme frustration, jealousy and a state of curiosity for men
