This is not the most exciting jumping up and down video but it is actually the most calm and educational one on this timepiece I have found on KZfaq. Thank you for this video. It’s very useful and informative. A nice calm and respectful way of explaining how to operate this timepiece without all the hype we are used to these days on 9:01 these type of channels. I actually walked away from these 2 videos knowing how to use the watch without having to read the instruction manual. Great stuff.

Personally I think CITIZEN makes the best watches hands down and to me they make smart watches look so stupid...
@BubbasBistro4 ай бұрын
For the price I certainly think they're among the best. Eco-Drive alone makes it worth getting one. The brand is definitely underrated among watch snobs - partly due to price and partly because they've (until recently) been so focused on quartz.

Thanks for informative video. I am really keen on buying this watch. Quick question: How can we setup the time for locations which are offset by non integer number of hours. For e.g. India, which is GMT+5.5 hours
@BubbasBistroАй бұрын
Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good answer to your question. You would likely have to manually set the time in India, because the radio signal map doesn't appear to cover that area of the world. See the map at the link below: www.citizenwatch-global.com/technologies/radiocontrolled/index.html

Hey mate, thanks for the helpful video! I was just wondering if you've experienced your radio-controlled synced time and date being incorrect? If you'd be willing to make a video on this, that would be appreciated, as I'm struggling with the manual.
@BubbasBistro5 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video. I'll try to help, starting with a couple questions: 1) Have you verified that the watch says "OK" indicating successful receipt of a recent time signal? Hit the lower right button to check this. 2) If it says it's received a time signal but the time is wrong, it might help to know more specifics on HOW it's wrong. For example, if the minute hand is correct but the hour is not, you might just need to set the time zone properly. The watch doesn't automatically know what time zone it's in. If the minutes are wrong, too (and you're sure it is updating) then I might recommend contacting the retailer and/or Citizen. I'll check back to try to help more, as needed. Have a good day!

Sincere apologies but I haven't looked at this watch in a bit and don't really have time to make another video. Haven't been active on that front since last year. What I do have is a link to the manual for this watch, and I hope it helps: www.manualslib.com/products/Citizen-H874-13422798.html If you have other questions about it I can try to assist. I wish you well!

How do you change the AM and PM? I have everything else set up just fine
@BubbasBistro6 ай бұрын
If I'm understanding your question correctly, that is purely a matter of what time you have set. It's just a 24 hour version of the regular time you have displayed. So if your watch says it's 6 AM when it should be 6 PM, just advance the main hour hand all the way around the dial once and it will be good.

Very informative video. Thanks for taking time to make it. I just purchased my Tsuki-Yomi 2 days ago and just kept scratching my head how to set the moon phase. Then it came to me that everything is encoded into the radio signal. The problem is, I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and I know that we don't have atomic clock/transmitting tower here. My question is, how close does the clock have to be to the tower in order to receive the signal. The closest one is located at Fort Collins, Colorado which is 1700km / 1062 miles. Do you think the watch is capable of receiving a signal in such a long distance, and if so , the signal is transmitted like daily or weekly? Not sure if I am in a close proximity of the signal, everything will be adjusted automatically? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
@BubbasBistro6 ай бұрын
You're absolutely close enough (my sister lives in Vancouver, btw). According to a couple things I've seen, Citizen watches will try at 2 AM and, if that fails, again at 4 AM. The signal is sent from the station continuously but has better range AND runs into less interference at night. I recommend setting it near a window at night (ideally taking into account proper window location for being closest to the tower) if you haven't gotten it to sync properly. More information from the time signal station itself: www.nist.gov/pml/time-and-frequency-division/time-distribution/radio-station-wwvb/help-wwvb-radio-controlled Hope this helps - enjoy your watch!

Thank you very much. I check the reception every morning by pressing button A, and it always shows failed. Maybe it is my location. I don't know. I am facing north with no direct access pointing southeast where the antenna is , assuming the tower is located at Colorado. I am going to be traveling to Frankfurt Germany and I will see if I get a signalthere. I read the tower is 25 km. from the city. By the way, there another way of doing it manually?
@BubbasBistro6 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear it still hasn't worked! Might indeed have to do with direction or interference relating to your building or surroundings. To manually set the time, try this link and go to page 7: www.manualslib.com/products/Citizen-H874-13422798.html Direct link for page 7: www.manualslib.com/manual/3133674/Citizen-H874.html?page=7#manual
@BubbasBistro6 ай бұрын
Also, if you're ever in a location where you think it might be better for reception, you could try (even during the daytime) to manually induce reception by holding in A (lower right button) for a couple seconds until it goes to "RX" and then letting the watch sit by a window for a while. Patience is key - it can take up to 30 minutes to finish if it's struggling to receive the signal.
@plamen69696 ай бұрын
Thank you for your patience. I will try it.

@BubbasBistro7 ай бұрын
I would recommend the following: 1) Go to page 9 of this PDF and follow the instructions www.citizenwatch-global.com/support/pdf/h874/e.pdf 2) If that doesn't help, contact Citizen or the (hopefully) authorized dealer from which you purchased the watch since it should still be under warranty.

The atomic clock is in Colorado. You have to get to an elevated position and I believe around 2:00 AM. You technically should be able to receive. I only know this because I have Casio G-Shock and have no issues in my area but did a little researching.
