I think a little birdie mentioned about the bull escape at Long horn Lester’s. Running amuck and munching on the plants. So somebody decided they need to have adventure too. 😊❤

Ha ha, Megan you are amazing. We're naming you the horse whisperer. 🥰
@RoseStClair-iq4yq6 ай бұрын
Might be helpful to do a little leading around with halters or even a rope looped around them to find how well they follow your bidding that way! The horses are well trained for leading, and I'd think the donkeys are, too. A little practice in the daylight would make this less daunting. As your confidence builds, it all gets easier.

Norma here. Good thing that Bri Pat noticed the problem and notified you. All’s well that ends well. Good job getting them back. I give Megan 90% credit for getting the job done.

Go Meg! I love that she is confident and loving. I think the animals respond well to her.
@annaflinn676 ай бұрын
Very proud of you both jumping right in on trying to get the bigs back in. Besides grabbing a bucket of feed, grab a lead rope that you can wrap around the horses neck to gently lead them back. They will respond to being led more than the bucket because as Meg mentioned at the end of the video they all already had gotten into feed so they weren’t hungry enough to respond to the bucket shake.

You should keep your halters and lead ropes handy. Those geldings and definitely Donkey Dan would let you halter them and then you could easily just walk them back in. Maybe take some small treats and give them a treat while you halter them. Walking up to them without so much as lead ropes in your hand sort of defeats the purpose. Anyway glad you got them back in.

Oh my! Stuff happens with animals! Y’all did good! Seems to me that an additional gate needs to be put up on the drive towards Jake’s house that could remain open except when such times like this occur and the bigs need to be rounded up. You know they just get out on occasion and that whole help facilitate it. Meg was good about remaining calm and talking softly to the horses and donkeys so they could just be guided back safely! They know y’all and did good listening. Thank goodness it wasn’t wild and crazy Rita though. 😳😜😘. Each time gives y’all knowledge of how to do it next time. Jami and Lester have had them get out and had to do the round up. It was never at night so y’all had that disadvantage. Maybe some big self charging flashlights can be kept out at the barn to grab for such times. 💫💞💫😘

You did very well Megan, but a lead rope might have helped you a lot. having some in easy access places for those 'just in case' times. I admire the fact that you didn't scold them but loved and comforted them and they really respected you for that and did as asked. Sorry about your disturbed evening with family though. ❤

Good work. I like seeing farm maintenance videos. Id suggest finding any rust on gates & filming coating them / oiling them / painting them or whatever you do with rusty gates. Also maybe the chains may also do good with some type of oil spray so they don’t get rusty. It’d be nice video to see. Well at-least that’s what I like seeing anyways. Merry Christmas.
