Hahaha Super cool el final con la imagen de Harry + fondo con Jhon Williams con su E.T... Pareciera que lo anterior fuese una reminiscencia de este tema...🙌🎼🎵🎶

I enjoyed the discussion about 4/2 and 2/2 Vs 3/2 straight. I'm rehearsing this piece now so will come back with any insights. Thanks for highlighting the muted woodwind parts too... This is really amazing music, I really feel like I'm flying. No wonder people say Azkaban was the best HP film of all

Hi Ben! Thank you so much for this amazing reduction and all of your reductions. I’ve watched so many of your videos, and I’ve watched this one many times. I’m curious how you arrived at this score. Did you do this by ear or get your hands on the original score? Because I’d love to purchase a full score that’s from JW in some capacity.

I like your videos very much. I'm looking forward to seeing more, but have a few questions: How do you find sheet music for Williams' works or movie scores in general? At first, seeing how you and other channels analyse these works, I thought you were all just geniuses who could write down the music and it's orchestration by just listening to it, but then after seeing your comments on the tempo difference in the recurring theme (4/2-2/2 and then 3/2) I just realised that you have the actual movie sheet music, or else you couldn't know about it. The other question regards the actual score in the video. Right after the percussion introduction at the beginning, the "exultantly" part at number 11 has two measures more than there should be. I can't quite tell which one is out of place, because I just hear a repetition of the third bar starting from the basson entry (so third measure of "exultantly", repeated twice), followed by the measure before the violins' entry. Correct me if I heard wrong, but regarding the exceeded number of measures I pretty sure I have no doubt.

Hello Riccardo, each video and video creator has a different process. Some of my videos in the making are by ear. There are many scores available for purchase, for instance, my video on "Aunt Marge's Waltz" is from the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Suite for Orchestra. There are also many more official releases for solo piano which can give you a basis on the structure of the piece without the full score including, for instance, time signatures. With regards to your question about the passage between m. 11 and m. 15, the score is correct to what is written but the audio is edited down in the soundtrack release, I believe the measures that can still be heard are either 11 & 12 or 13 & 14 and 15.

@@BenSmithFilm But how did you get this score in specific. That tune isn't part of the Prisoner of Azkaban Suite for Orchestra and the score in your analysis seems to be too accurate to just be transcribed by ear or from a piano score. Thank you for the great analysis. I really like that piece so I'm glad there finally is a score analysis on KZfaq.

Ben, I appreciate this video, it gives a great analysis of this cue. one thing I wonder is, what is the BPM for the start of this cue? Thank you.
@BenSmithFilm
@BenSmithFilm 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Trevor, film music works on a different tempo system called clix which is often decided after the music has been written so isn’t written on the scores. I’d estimate that it’s around 200 BPM thought.

at 0:49 what do you mean by "Synth voice" ? A Choir vst?
@BenSmithFilm
@BenSmithFilm Жыл бұрын
Hi Martin, I’m not entirely sure, but I imagine that it’s sampled chorus that was then tweaked to make it sound more ethereal. I doubt that it’s just a VST choir because there was a real chorus available for the soundtrack recording.
