I was fortunate to live in the same town as Nick's. I wore their boots for years and they are, hands down, THE best boot made!

CRANK'M UP! I used a pair of wood boot stretchers overnight for a few nights and wore them during the day with slightly damp socks (water). Now they are mine-o-mine and have the best fit. (Nicks Falcon). It seems so simple, but thanks for the lacing tip!

I just bought a new pair of western boots. What I use is the same stuff I use for my knives and guns. It’s called Ballistol. Seals and cures woods, metal, leather, etc. it’s amazing stuff.

I juice mine up with a tooth brush and really work it in the stitching at the sole to upper. I’m due for a new set going from whites to nicks! You don’t use cheap tools for work and your feet will thank you.

I used half a tub of Nick's lubing my new Nick's boots. It took several days to get that much in. I use the sun or a hair dryer depending on the weather to really work the stuff in, but your fingers will get it started. A labor of love!

Wow! Love to see they use pigskin mallets in the boot industry as well! We use it in the jewelry manufacturing!

Just got myself my first pair of higher end boots a couple weeks ago, got some Redwing 1907 moc toes the break-ins been going good but was still getting some heel that was causing irritation/blisters... the over under lace method really helps to lock the heel down, not to mention snugging the entire boot up around the foot, funny enough, I actually lace my hockey skates that way but didnt think about doing it on my boots but its a world of difference... I like the Redwing mocs so much I picked up the iron ranger hawthornes as well a week later. Definitely would like to try a pair of Nicks some day, im also vary interested in Viberg boots which is a high end Canadian boot maker.

I know exactly what your talking about I’ve done all the brake in you mentioned for my high leg assault boots over the years but we had to be able to polish for parade so mix of dubbin and kiwi black still have my last pair.

Thanks for the tip with the laces. I’m just making some leather goods and decided to switch how I do my laces on my RW Iron Rangers (hope that’s ok, cause I’m not a logger or anything like that), and you’re right. The laces work better. They don’t slowly become looser.

i told my wife i want nicks bots for X mas she was not impressed with the price but after i said how long they will last and compared that to me buying a new pair of cheaper boots every other year, its really abut the same if not cheaper. your just paying for the investment up front. cant wait to get a pair. not to mention the cheaper boots i wear hurt my feet after a few hours of use.

Went 3 weeks following Nicks break in procedure on my builder pro's, and it was pure HELL. For some reason Nicks is anti leather conditioning for break in. Finally, i broke down and oiled them and that was the best thing I did. They were so much better. Needless to say my next pair I'm doing Buckin style and greasin them right out of the box

I'm torn between Nicks and JK for 2 prs 12" corks all eyelets (14 eyes). Both try ons fit nice. But I make my own tongue 12"l x 2"w with my 2 holes 1" from the bottom. No scallopping/tassles/whatever you do.

i have my very first pair of Nick's on order. i wont get them till i am an alaskan instead of a texan but i am incredibly excited. i have lived in boots for years and i have always been disappointed with them. hopefully the fight the cost of the Nick's caused was worth it.
