I've just bought my first pair of Pfanner trousers and they are the most comfortable protection pants I've had in over 30 years in the woods. I don't know about durability but I guess if they serve you they'll do me for a good while. Great video. Between you and Bieke you are doing an amazing job of showing those of us who work much smaller trees on much flatter land what goes into feeding the world's insatiable demand for timber. Regards from Scotland.

@@backwoodsraised4395 I picked the Pfanners because they offered a short leg suitable for stumpy Scottish guys with wee legs and a bit of belly. No regrets so far, in fact they are the first protection trousers I don't rush to get out of before driving home. Each to their own, before I got a wee bit heavier I loved the Huskys and when I was super slim it was Stihl Dynamic. I've no brand loyalty when it comes to clothing, just what is most comfortable.

48:20 Bucking the log without splitting it. In addition to that doing it without pinching your bar. That was a great demo. Thank you for that. I think I know of every way of pinching my bar there is. You have taught me how not to and how not to get your saw smashed by the log although I learned that the hard way the other day. Thank God FedEx just dropped off my new one. Thank you for all the lessons. Tom in Northwest Arkansas Ozark mountains.

@@BjarneButler with those huge logs I figured you must have experience with a good pinch. Thank you for showing it and for showing how you get out of it. Removing the bar from the saw will be my go to for now. Plus holding the saw until it releases while the tree is falling. Great stuff.

That tree grew on that rock a long time. Life is amazing, you just can`t stop it from happening. A seed falls into a crack with just enough dirt and water to get it started on its journey of growing upwards and Bjarne Butler heard the tree`s prayer of being used for something special because the tree knew it wasn`t going anywhere at that location. Prayer answered. Off to the sawmill.

Reminds me of a lot of our mountain tops here in Pennsylvania where I hunt. You'll be walking along a plateau, and all the sudden get cliffed out and realize you've been walking on top of a field of giant boulders. When you walking around and the ground gets bouncy underfoot and you notice those holes and crevasses, it is like you just realized you walked into a minefield standing suspended on old branches sticks and debris.. Sketchy, especially with the snow on. Like you, I have looked and seen bones in the bottom of some. Heebie jeebies is right!

Reminds me of an old skidder road I walked on below the south side of the Tolt water shed near the north fork of the snoqualmie river and found a pile of deer bones were it looked like a predator had drug kill after kill there. It’s funny how the wilderness looks familiar but can be in a totally different place.
