We loved staying at this Airbnb apartment in downtown Budapest. I couldn't imagine being in a better location. It was really close to restaurants and shops and within walking distance of everything you want to see in Budapest. The Szechenyi Baths and the House of Terror Museum are SO close. The apartment building has a charming courtyard and the apartment itself has two bedrooms and three bathrooms. I loved the high ceilings, huge bright windows, and peaceful location.

How would you rank what's most important to you when you're booking a place to stay? 1=Location, 2=Price, 3=Style. For me, I'd generally say 2, 1, 3.

This is my order. 1 - 2 - 3. I have a young child and the distance from what we are really going to see or from mass transit is extremely important. A tired child can really ruin an experience.

a bit of history of the street....you can see that on the other side the building has lots of holes....in 1956 there was an uprising against the russian army and their influence...those holes are bullet holes from the fights on the streets of budapest.

If anyone is interested to see this (kind of) location should visit 6th district (str Szegfu and Sziv corner, very close to the Adrassy avenue, which is one of the most beautiful avenue, under it the first metro built in the continent). However, 7th district is very similar.

Yes to more videos like this, and yes to how you go about getting them, negotiating a price, and what you look for. I agree, 2, 1, 3 for me, too, plus cleanliness. And all that beauty for just $33 per night. Wow!

Loved seeing the apartment and YES, spill the beans on how you find these gems! Why not include direct links to these places (if you haven't already)? My ranking is 2, 1, 3, but sometimes 1, 2, 3 depending on where I'm going as I do enjoy having a rest between bouts of sightseeing without having to travel to far between my accommodations and the action! I also wanted to mention that your videos are so well done! I've seen some other travel channels trying to copy your style, but they just don't have "it" the way you do. Keep up the fantastic work!

Hi guys! Yes, definitely - I'm not sure when that damage was done but Budapest has, unfortunately, been the site of too much conflict during its long history. We could barely believe our luck when we walked inside and first saw this incredible place! :)

you did well in getting such a huge place for that price. yes, the person before me also wrote about the same thing interestingly about the building across the street with holes in it....most likely from the 1956 Revolution...tanks shot up many of the buildings, especially, in the Jewish section of the city. (i was born in Budapest, but lived about 15 miles away....escaped through the city in 1956 when it was a total mess after the revolution...came to the US in 1957) appreciate seeing it from a younger person's perspective. my son & i will be going there in the fall.

In that district and within few blocks I was superintendant of renovation /not interiors though!/ of a couple of buildings in 2006. My wages would not pay the rent now.

That is a really great apartment, especially for that price! Which part of Budapest is it located? I stayed in Budapest last year near Opera Subway Station and got a two bedroom apartment (4 people) for $51 CDN/night.

How could you find this cheap airbnb in BP? we have slept in 2 different airbnb apartments ,both cost over 50 USD and those were one of the cheapest one bedroom apartments I could find last summer. I am assuming that you have been to BP in April or May, according to your upload date.

Those walls were damaged by bullets in the 1956 uprising against the Soviets.
