Perfect way to illustrate the superGM and decent (yes, 1700s blitz is > 95percentile) chess players discrepancy. Smooth opening with black. Each of the opponent’s move has to be engine top 5 to even keep up. “Punishing” a 3am-speedrunning-Danya is finding a pawn-protected pawn capture or a disgusting Queen move back to first rank for no apparent reason. Then it’s all mental willpower drainage until a blunder where, if weren’t made, was about to be responded with a two-brilliant-moves sequence. Disgusting.

He says every video "thanks to my Patreon supporters for allowing me to keep this channel ad-free" I have to watch on the computer with adblock because on mobile the ad-abuse is so bad that it breaks up the flow of the vid, which requires uninterrupted attention to follow this level of play. Alternatively, check out how Chess-Network does his ads. Only at the beginning and end, never interrupting himself with them. Respect for self and audience is much appreciated there. What a tactically impressive game. The analysis of the rook lift at the end is so complex, I'm amazed if anyone would have been able to calculate that mid-game, especially during a 10-minute game.

That engine analysis was fantastic now I know that pawn blunders can be good if they open up bishops and knight and rook sac ideas to open up the enemy King and files of attack with the rook.

Some really cool ideas in this game. The rook sac to make way for the other rook. The "potential energy" of the dark square bishop coming alive at the very end after a pawn sac. The difference between Nd5 and Nxe4 because of the removal of the pawn anchor. This was an educational game

Maybe it's just me, but the last two games have taken everything up more than a notch. I've gone from following along, appreciating, and understanding; to enjoying, but seeing the battles as above my level. Nothing wrong with it, just surprised by the sudden shift. Good stuff though. Love the commentary.

Nxe4 is such a cool positional tactic basically a trade but you leave your opponent's pieces looking absolutely silly while you have a coordinated bishop pair
