im totally new to all this. been watching a few of Ajahn Brahm's videos. i woke up yesterday and felt rather low and lately my mind is so negative about stuff , been feeling angry and stressed. i first decided to have a long walk with the dog in the country side, got back and watched a few of these videos and even tried mediation for the first time. i actually ended up feeling much calmer and even quite joyful by the time i finished. cannt believe how quick it had an effect on me. amazing. thanks!

I discovered Brahm for myself 3 years ago. I was lost in chasing popularity, sex, money - externals. He has really helped me find peace.

AB is spot on. I wasted my life (62 years), money, time trying to please others. And in the end, it wasn’t good enough ... I was criticized and laughed at. But now I’m here. Listening, watching and learning Dhamma. However, I have no regrets. As AB says ... I was an IDIOT. Totally stupid.

I really hear you and I'm almost 70. Still trying to please "everyone" and so few notice my effort but I pay dearly.

Wow.... the timing of watching this video could not have been more perfect. I’ve been having trouble motivating myself lately and could not understand why. I didn’t even look at the title of the talk until 10 minutes into it.

It comes down to this:Beware of the dark side-anger, fear, agression, the dark side are they, easily they flow quick to join you in a fight. Once you start down the dark path forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you it will, like it did Obi-Wan`s apprentice. Ajahn Brahm reminds me of Yoda :)

people buy nice cars sometimes simply because they like it, like a toy! it's not necessarily to impress others.

It shouldn't be despiriting that each talk was worth 5 cents. If all people on the planet bought it, it would be 7 billion times 5 cents = 350 million dollars! :) Ajahn Brahm would be a multi-millionaire.

What a stupid simple minded thing to say...getting a big expensive car makes you an idiot or to show off? No my friend some people buy these thing simply because they like them, saw one as a kid and thought...one day..then they could make there childhood dreams come true...they admire the craftmanship..just because you chose a simple life dont knock others..open your mind up
