@kinwoven Rebecca Robeson, You should paint a second sister painting, install it on sliding brackets, over the utilitarian entertainment box a.k.a. TV set on Wall above chair, and with a clicker on the remote, the painting glides on the bracket-tracks, lower down the wall, all the way to the floor, as if placed there, behind the chair, momentarily by the busy artist, thus simulatiously exposing the TV for viewing pleasure! 😀 I LOVE IT! Do you, too?! Time to break out the paint n brushes?! I love the smell of a fresh painting in the morning lololol even if it is just a fancy TV SCREEN camouflaged with contemporary hand painted designs, think of it like a sister painting to the larger original, for your new Tulsa OK, master bedroom suite! 👌 I hope you do a painting soon! 🖼 BTW I love the crystal lighting! Also the chair under TV is awesome too!

Is that the same statue that you got at a garage sale for a ridiculously low price lol? I took your idea and went thrift store shopping in order to stage my house that I designed, built and decorated (we have since sold that house and designed another one and we moved in 7 mos. ago). Anyway, I found a lamp that had a dog statue on it and took out the lamp part and used it up high so no one would notice that it's not actually bronze! :) We have it in our newly designed, built and decorated house now... You all have helped me so much that I bought/ordered almost all of our new furniture (Furnitureland South) about 8 months before our house was completed, and it all fit beautifully! I'm old school - did it all on graph paper lol. Really should have learned to use Sketchup!!! Thanks so much!!!

I am loving the first video in this series! (‘Use what you have’ reminds me of ‘shop your closet’ when outfit inspiration is needed.) I know from experience that it can be difficult to say goodbye to the pieces that worked in one home, but don’t work in another. There’s also joy in finding a place for items that fit the decor of your new home. I’m excited to see how you decorate the other spaces in your new home using what you have!

Hey Rebecca I have been following you for sometime.. Love your tips and your energy... I live in a 96-year-old house in Little rock Arkansas... I have lived here 47 years and I would say the house has been through five incarnations so far... I love the idea of using what you have because it seems to me things just evolve... just as your life changes and your needs change... your house seems to evolve into what you need at any particular time..

It's great to see Tulsa life is agreeing with you. Seems you and your family are enjoying it! I lived there for more than a year but had to move for my job. I didn't want to leave - it's a vibrant and beautiful city but so laid back. Your new series is so appropriate and helpful for these challenging economic times. Your house is beautiful and your talent is endless. Good luck always and thank you for always sharing your expertise.

🕊Rebecca ........ your bedroom looks fabulous.bright and airy. I also like to move things around now and again, just to make things look different . I remember as a kid once, being at home on my own, i was about 12, mum had gone out , i moved all the furniture around in the lounge , because I thought it looked better In A different layout. When mum came home she was shocked when she opened the door, but things didn’t get moved back , so I guess she liked it . LOL...... even as a kid I have loved home making . And when your like this , your mind is always working to make things look better. Your the same I just know it .😁😁🤣 loved this video , and looking forward to the rest ..... 🕊🌸🌺🌸🌺 p.s I just love your light in your bedroom that looks like shards of light. I have looked everywhere for something like it . 😞😞🙄 as I said before England is so boring with lights...... many you have shown us , are just fabulous. Plus I loved the ones you had on your built in . Your taste is exceptional. Love your ideas 👍😁

Very pretty, and I appreciate all the symmetry. For everyday living, I don't think I could keep this look up for long. I would need to have pencils, etc. out on the desk, I would want to keep my books around to use, all the white would get paw prints on it, etc. I like a balance between practicality/functionality and beauty.

Absolutely spectacular. But ofcourse I expected nothing less. Using what you is a great way to show ppl that if you buy the right things to decorate with, it'll make it a lot easier to transition. You even said that about buying pillows, and I think it applies to furniture too. I love built in shelves. But it can be tricky to style, and sometimes you can fill it up with the wrong thing. I love the placement of the books super cool idea.

Rebecca, Absolutely LOVE your videos!!! ...Just a little FYI, from a "non-techy" you can hang your television screen vertical and re-set the settings for vertical viewing (similar principal used when setting up a computer screen to vertical viewing). The only caveat is that the "knobs" or "ports" for the volume or a USB or other types of cords may be on top as opposed to the side of your television screen (I'm fairly certain that the ports can be moved to the back of the screen with a little help from one of your "tech gurus") ...Just a thought! Keep smiling and inspiring!

Suggestion using felt underneath the crystal lamp so that you can slide it instead of lifting it up .... Yes, I'm a tad clumsy and drop things. Felt under those chairs top... :) Love your new home! The crystal lamp is divine, and the sunburst mirror reminds me of your hair style .... that's a compliment btw. :) ADORE that light fitting in your bedroom .... I'm currently right in the middle of moving .... Love my new abode but about the only thing I remember about it, is that the feature wall in the living room is a very soft avocado ... and the kitchen has deep pull out crockery drawers! The rest of the walls must be a soft creamy colour, or something that doesn't take over the room. I have a candle holder that's so very simiIar to your crystal lamp, so of course I love that lamp of yours! I'd always wondered how people knew the titles of their books, so you've taught me something tonight, amidst all of the other ideas ... and I'll now have to take my own suggestion and put felt underneath my crystal candle holder. In fact, while I was just typing that, it's occurred to me to find something else for that instead of a candle. I have zero ides of what I'm going to use, and what will go to the op shop .. so, the moving man just kept on repeating "oh it's going to be expensive " .. as he kept walking into each room! lol. Considering it's just my pooch and me, I sure do have a lot of 'stuff' ... but sure as eggs, what I send away, will be the perfect thing for my new abode. I keep saying that this is going to be my final home, and they can carry me out in a cardboard box, but I was 60 when I moved into my current home, so maybe in another 8 years I won't care what happens to me, if I'm still around. I have a very rare disease similar to MS and a sneaky one similar to Parkinsòns disease appeared when I was in my mid 50's and it's pretty well at its peak now ... which is why I suggested the felt underneath your lead crystal lamp, because I'm dangerous around anything that can be moved or carried! ;) ... but I realise that a house has its own personality, so it takes around 6 months before its shown it true colours ... so I've learnt over the years not to do anything that can't easily, or inexpensively changed. I just adore your style, both personality, decorating, clothing! Your touches really reflect you! :) so thanks from an Aussie fan.

I’m an military brat, meaning my father was active duty before I was born and for a total of 32 years. I then married a military man and he severed 22 years. Between my father & husband I have moved more than 50 times in my 72 years on earth. I learned how to wallpaper with bed sheet and liquid starch, pass a government cleaning inspection when departing military quarters and always used “what I had” to furnish my new home/apartment/quarters.

Really lovely! It feels charming, smart, and filled with warmth! The side tables-acrylic boxes design is fabulous. Did you use any window treatments behind the bed? Is the space directly across from the artwork, in the facing corner, is that space supposed to be utilized or open zen or something? And will you be adding a floor rug or is the design to be minimalist as just gorgeous love the LORD grew for you to dance on one day? What on earth is the closet situation? Rebecca, you're such a star❣✌

RE acrylic box on nightstand... I had to do something similar as the 2 chests I used as nightstands had a 2” ht difference - I used a black decor box since my stands were black. Thank you for all yr practical tips! It enables those of us on a more limited budget to be creative problem solvers. I also love “shopping my home” and using existing pieces to create a new look in another room. I have friends who asked “Is this new? I haven’t seen it before.” ... I enjoy telling them “ Not new .... but it used to be in my ___(room) ___ and now I’ve moved it upstairs/downstairs.”'

"Use what you've got" is right on par with the way I'm going at things in our new home. I'm also trying to get closer to the minimalist vs maximalist look, (I'll never truly be a minimalist). Gotta say I love the look of the books on the shelves, but that's something I no longer have in my home - I even got rid of all my cookbooks because I always use on-line recipes these days. I keep a binder of faves, and that's it. I kept four of my favorite 'reading' books, that's it.

For sticky pocket doors, use a white candle. Rub the candle on the part that is rubbing between the door and the door frame or wall. The white candle will not discolor your doors or wall paint. This technique works on any sticky doors. Please don't use W140 on your doors only for door locks.

Dearest Rebecca you had those golden panels in your old living room, I believe they will look fenomenal in your office next to the window instead of the black and white photos you have right now. Hope you have a healthy and happy new life in your beautiful new home!!! Peace and Love ☮️♥️from sunny 🌅 Greece🇬🇷

So smart with the Acrylic boxes..I had two very sturdy nice end tables but they were slightly different in height. so I did a stack of books under one lamp..but those boxes are a great idea too :)..Love using what we have :)

I love the way you’ve styled your room , I think the shelves look like decorating art , I know some people think ,have things that mean something, or things you use on your shelves, but practicality never looks a great as art or decorating style... Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 loves you Rebecca!! 😘😘😘😘😘

I love your new home, your bedroom decor and your videos. I know that everyone has their own style and I love watching different design styles. I'd really enjoy seeing some colourful designs if you could please. Maybe like your Christmas videos but everyday style with a more colour.

I love what you did to your house so far and I can't wait to see what the rest will look like. No doubt it will be stunning. I have a hard time visualizing how to transform an empty house and probably couldn't see the potential in this house. You make it look so easy. I'm binge watching all your videos. You make me laugh too. Love how down to earth you are. I am signing up for your design courses. See you there!

That dog figurine was used in one of the earliest DS videos on accessorizing that you filmed at your San Diego office using the built-ins. You demonstrated the concept of filling a space about 50%. Unfortunately I don't think that video is still on the DS. It had so much good content.

Rebecca your office and bedroom turned out beautifully. I like that you used things that you already had from your old home to decorate your new home. And though I think your old night stands were beautiful. I like how you were able to makeup for the fact that they couldn't fit in the new space. Looking forward to seeing what you've done with the bathroom.

The dog statue was used in your very first Design Session on accessorizing. It was in the built-in at your office and you used it to illustrate the concept of filling the space 50%. From Rosalie in Nebraska.

I love it, love it, love it!! About a month ago I stumbled upon your channel as I started researching decorating and design ideas for my home. I have 5,000 sqft of home to decorate as I just moved into my new home less than two years ago. So I can relate to what your going through, trying to use what you already have in a new home. In your new home I especially love your hardwood floors and was wondering what stain finish you have? I have oak floors and I'm refinishing them but haven't been able to find the right stain, until I saw the floors in your new home. I will also try to find tile that looks like wood in the color finish I choose for my existing floor. I absolutely love the Kinwoven Way, can't wait to learn more!
