Hey everyone
Thanks so much for watching!
I built this oven to down size my old oven. I was running out of room in my workshop LOL.
The test video will be coming soon with loads of carbon fiber content!
I hope you'll enjoy the content, I made of the oven build process.
I highly suggest to check with your electrician before you'll do any of the electric wiring done. Please don't take the content in the video of the wiring as an advise for your own safety! I am not an electrician!!!
The video only give you an idea how to do it.

Can you tell me if the inkbird pir controller you used is programmable so that you can set and forget or do you have to keep adjusting the temp manually. What type of insulation panels did you use, I am finding that part a major head fu*k as there are so many different types available. Fantastic and inspiring video btw

First of all, kudos to you. Great videos, everything easy to understand. It's just fun to watch. 👌 But I still have a small question: Have I perhaps overlooked it, or do you only use the round spiral of your electric oven for heating? Thanks in advance.

Very helpful. Since you mentioned the wiring, I think the wiring seems OK except I don't trust those SSRs. Too many of them are totally optimistic on their specifications and catch on fire. I mean, the wiring might not meet standards if you were selling these ovens to other people or whatever but it is good enough for something you don't run unattended.
@zrcarbon9937
@zrcarbon9937 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, this oven is not for sale. I wouldn’t sell something if I’m not sure of it is 100%. Thanks for the heads up on the SSR. What would you recommend instead of the ssr?
@mckenziekeith7434
@mckenziekeith7434 Жыл бұрын
@@zrcarbon9937 if it is working for you then I guess I wouldn't change it. Maybe just make sure the SSR itself isn't getting too hot. But I would prefer an actual mechanical relay IF the PID controller can be set up for a relay. There may be some PID controllers out there that switch fast (like a PWM controller). If so, that type of PID might need a solid state relay. If I had to use a solid state relay, I would try to buy a name brand from europe, usa or japan that has agency approvals and is not counterfeit. Maybe Omron (but beware of counterfeit Omron SSRs). In any event, monitor the SSR in use. If it is hot (like over 60 C or something) then I would consider a fan or heatsink. If it is 100 C it is probably going to fail at some point.

Hey man Awsome build!! Just asking is it not dangerous to build a oven using wood and insulating materials? Btw big fan of your channel keep uup the good work!!
@zrcarbon9937
@zrcarbon9937 Жыл бұрын
Hey man Very good question! The wood ignition temperature is between 200-250 degrees Celsius. The polyurethane insulation board can catch on fire around 600-700 degrees celsius, the burning temperature is 300-400 C. Polyurethane insulation board also has very good resistance against electrical fire. I’ll be using the oven for no more than 120C. The oven will be fine for the temperature I’ll be using it for. Also there are many fire retardant sprays and paints for wood on the market to increase the ignition point. That would be even safer. 🙂 The table frame not getting direct heat, there is a 60mm insulation all the way around. Trying to keep the heat inside much as possible. Otherwise it would be insane to run the oven with today energy costs.😅 Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate your question. 🛠🤘

@@zrcarbon9937 Thanks for the extensive explanation!! Nice one again.. Would you need to reprogram the PID during the curing to ramp up from 70 to 120 again? And if so, a second switched preprogrammed PID would make it easier in use? Cheers, Kris

@@zrcarbon9937 The last few days I've been looking into ordering the equipment for setting up an oven and came across this PID. It might be interesting for you also. A bit more expensive, but with more possibilities and programmable via a PC or app.. Be aware, there is a 24v and 240v version: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m9xpetWCubPGdKs.html
