And just like that, all those hours of "It won't idle... it still won't idle... WHY THE HECK WON'T IT IDLE?" fade away! What a nice finished product. My own car projects always reminded me of what a friend told me about childbirth: "If you remembered how much it hurts, you'd never do it again!"

Great to see a gal doing the work, obviously knowing what she's doing and doing it better than most. Just had to sneak the guy in to do the GRUNT work, and not much of it the way she does it, practice makes perfect. If I had a race team she'd head my out crew. Super clean, very important in autos and kitchens, as a guy who does both well appreciated. Have to eat well to drive fast and maintain.

I loved watching your series on the 3.2 renovation. The thing I love about Porsche , as you mentioned , is that they are built to be taken apart and put back together without resorting to silly one time fasteners and plastic clips. Your series reminded me of an incident at Le Mans some years ago when a pal with a 964 cabriolet managed to mess up his gear change sequencing such that he could not remove the key , nor could he get into neutral. Outside a restaurant and in the street I set too with only the tool kit and was able to dismantle the gear selector mechanism and put it right. The selector rods had jumped into a non sequential position. All was well, maybe I just got lucky but it earned me a free dinner and the guy who owned the car was a happy bunny . Job done. Credit to Porsche. Their cars are super maintainable. I just wish I could afford one. Well maybe I could, but where would I put my three dogs???? Great series , thank you.

I am in awe of what you have done. Your knowledge of how to do all this work is jaw dropping. I have 2 Polaris ATV’s and during the first lock down last year I stripped one of them down to the frame. Over a period of months as I cleaned and repaired everything I began to panic as I put everything back together again. You think when you are taking it apart you will remember everything. I was getting worried I would end up with a bunch of left over bolts at the end. I was definitely struggling at the last parts of reassembly and just had 2 bolts left over. What I did was not even a couple of percent of what you have done here. Like I say, I wish I had your knowledge to attempt to do a project like this. I would need a Porsche factory mechanic assembler right by my side holding my hand through this job. Hope you have many years of pleasure driving this car. It will be like brand new when you are done.

Thanks so much! In addition to the videos I took (funny) 911 photos. There were a huge help and I could have had twice as many more! So true that you think you'll remember all of it, but... I think the most difficult part was that all of the hardware was jumbled together when it came back from the plater. It was so difficult to know what bolt when where... So thankful for all the photos! I took many images of the bolt and washer situation in context as I took it apart. That was soooo helpful!

Can you even imagine what a Porsche restoration shop would charge to perform this labor of love at such a meticulous level? You must be so proud of each other for this accomplishment! After the interior, I would REALLY like to see you complete the body work as well - a car this good deserves it. Back in the day, I saved a ton on a professional 911SC repaint simply by doing the disassembly /reassembly myself. Would you please consider it?
