We moved to Charlotte area from NYC area back in 2020 and are VERY happy that we did. NYC/tri state area has become more And more overpriced and rundown. I’ve been back to visit 2021, 2022 & 2023 but gonna skip 2024 and possibly future years as well. The visits have done nothing for me as I don’t miss the grime, crowds etc. I found myself zig-zag walking NYC sidewalks to avoid dog crap among other things.

Yeah my mom moved me down here when I was 14. Make sure you get a comparable paying job first and you'll be ok. We struggled for awhile out here because the wages are lower

I want to move to the Carolinas when i retired in 2 years but i already know my daughter who work for a medical insurance company and my granddaughter who just getting out of high school will be following me😂 so it has to be were my daughter can find work and my grandbaby can start a career when she decides what she's want to do 😊 i will be watching your channel to get some kinda idea👍🏽

I retired 7yrs ago from NYC after being born and living inner city most of my life minus 4yrs in college and move to Bergen county NJ in late 1990s. My youngest kid graduated HS and went to college in 2018 so in 2019 we sold our north jersey home and bought a home in Carolinas. Prices were low as were interest rates. While in north jersey those high a*s property taxes were KILLING us! Our home here in the south is twice as big and a lot newer than NJ house and property taxes are ONE THIRD of what they were in NJ. All I can say to u is that despite home prices being high along with interest rates, if u can make it happen economically, MAKE THAT MOVE…life is short…also do u REALLY want ur young ones to embark on a career in overpriced & grimey NYC area? Mine are doing much better having gotten their careers started south of NYC. While no place is perfect one has more elbow room and cheaper cost of living AWAY from NYC & NE in general

Yay for York, SC! We live in northern York near Lake Wylie, so we can get to Steele Creek area of Charlotte in about 10-15 minutes. The schools in our school district are considered to be top. There is a lot of residential and commercial building going on, so traffic is only getting worse. The price of progress, I guess.

Love Cabarrus county! I moved to the Charlotte area about a year and a half ago and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Some surprising things for me was the cost of living and the traffic. But I came from an extremely rural town up north so it makes sense why those things would be different. Also the economy right now is jacked up anyways. Thanks for your insightful videos!!

Likewise, we moved from Bergen county NJ across the river from NYC back in 2020…originally looking for a ‘CHARLOTTE’ home and stumbled upon HUNTERSVILLE …had to be the best ‘stumble’ ever >>> close enough to Charlotte but far enough away
