My mom is from Calabria, Italy and they make a red pepper paste that is used a lot in cooking…when I bought the Gochugang you recommended it reminded me of so much with that umami flavor … the Korean paste is a lot less expensive so a big plus…now I’m addicted .😅

I’ve traveled all over the world from Ireland after and Amsterdam Germany and I lived in Soha Qatar for a while as a linguist; that being said, Korean pork Bulgogi is still the greatest meal on the entire planet.

So, this is the third "authentic bulgogi" recipe but with different ingredients. And now I'm lost, which on is the reazl "authentic" ?. I will still stick to the first recipe I saw from your channel, with beef, shrooms and so on. This is a very good recipe, indeed.

Thank you so much l love all 3 recipes Pork Bulgogi, Spicy PorkBulgogi and Kimchi. Of all the Korean blogs and KZfaq Korean recipes channels, yours is the best by far!!😊. I watched so many different ones to get 3 or 4 receipes and comparing them to others, yours is still the best especially on the extra preparation, cooking Techniques and Tips, including storage and your professional skills-set. Incredibly useful!! ❤. Best of all, l like was your consideration of NON WASTAGE, RECYCLE WATER USAGE AND OTHER TIPS. Salt is an antiseptic, left over salt water can be used to wash other Vegetables. l watch so many other blogs, a lot of food and water wastage in preparation, which can equates to feed many starving children or adults and where water is a precious commodity, clean water a lot of countries are short of. These countries, starving children and adults have blotted stomach due to lack of salt intake and food, they eventually died. I appreciated You set very good example for others/ chefs, cooks, bloggers to follow. Amazingly Thoughtful. 🎉 l deleted rest of other Korean recipes l historically watched and saved from bloggers, KZfaq channels, etc. But decided to keep just yours is good enough.

What do you find different about Japanese vs Korean soy sauce? I generally go with dark vs light.. cheap for cooking, expensive for ... well, not cooking.

Word of warning - do NOT substitute regular red pepper flakes from the grocery store for the gochugaru! Gochugaru has significanrly less heat, and is also a little sweet; they are very different things. You run a risk of making the marinade inedibly hot if you substitute 1-for-1!

Yes👍 Korean red pepper flakes (coarse ground) is highly recommended for this recipe. Using other red pepper flakes will not yield the same taste. The viewers can order GoChuGaRu online (links are in the description box) or at your local Korean market.
