@@RylandRussell We replaced a bunch of 6 year old Elation SixPars with the RGB Version. They're brighter and doing the math, are probably cheaper than getting the SixPars repaired outside of warranty. Very happy we went this way.

Nope. We’ve lost power to the building a few times recently. Still good to go.

FYI: I bought one and tried three replacement fans and added a voltage controller. The light comes with a 24v fan installed but only sends it 14v. I tried one 24v fan and two 12v fans with a controller to lower the 14v to 12v. The 24v fan was plug-and-play but just a little quieter. Both of the 12v fans were much quieter. I checked the temperature of each fan after running full brightness for 30 minutes. The 12v fans were one deg C hotter than the loud stock 24v fan. I'm going to order 3 more and upgrade all of the fans.

@@RylandRussell I looked at a bunch of different brands that have very similar lights (as I am in the UK), but they were all around £500-800 ($630-1000) each. So it looks like it will actually be cheaper (even with the import fees) to get the Boulder lights from the US.

One main benefit is that you typically are not using ONLY these lights for your front light and matching a RGB version with other conventional key lighting will be difficult. You could point purple at a person and set your cameras white balance to that and make it look halfway decent but the in person light wont look right. RGBW lights tend to look more blue/purple to the naked eye in my experience.

@@RylandRussell have you used an actual light meter on them? I would be curious if you could see a noticeable difference if you actually went off of a meter vs eyeballing it. (Not that you are, I don't know, but a lot of people likely would be even with this light)

Hey Andrew, so yes the brackets come with the light, but the clamps do not. You would buy truss clamps based on what size pipe you have. Something like these work well for truss, you will need two per light. amzn.to/3ccHX8V

I feel your pain. Well they are not lights that have shutters so if that is important to you then no these wont work. Although I actually prefer the soft edge zoomable nature of these over my ellipsoidals for washing the stage, makes it easier to get an even wash but they are more of a zoom par or spot than an ellipsoidal. Also if you need no fans then these aren't for you. Other than that I love these lights, actually ordered two more for us this week! They could get really close to whatever color temp your source 4's are ending up at.

We use them every week and still love them. 👍🏻 has added a lot of flexibility for lighting different areas of the stage

The r2x have somewhat brighter LED diodes. And while I have seen the r2x I haven’t sat them side by side with these lights. Of course you can buy 5 of these for the price of one r2x. I’m sure there are other benefits to the r2x, maybe connections, support etc.

Definitely would recommend the R2X over these. You are also paying for quality, customer support. There is a reason why the R2X has become the popular wash unit in the worship market.

You can absolutely hang them. They come with brackets that you attach clamps to. That is if you are hanging from a pipe. You'll need unistrut or schedule 40 truss to hang from typically. Each light requires two clamps. amzn.to/3Wvq9In

Man your channel is a lifesaver and your altros are an absolute blessing. I would love to rack your brain a little. We are getting ready to drop $20,000 on a full 4k livestream setup. I’m responsible for putting it all together so I want to do it right and be as responsible with my churches money as possible as well. We have 4 baby pins that we have lights connected to right now but we are planning to swap them for these. Whatever brackets and attachments I need to get, I can. I just havent found any info about it all yet.

They seem to have good reviews. Probably a solid choice from what I hear. I don’t know all the differences, I heard the fan doesn’t shut off in the shehds.

The lights are exactly 37 ft from a frontline singers face if directly in front. At a 25 degree angle.

This was determined by laser measurement tool on a music stand at head height and an iPhone on that stand using the “level” app.

I’ve been told they are about 3 weeks from being in stock at Amazon.

I really recommend a software based dmx control for intelligent light (jands vista or lightkey) but to test you could grab a cheap one like this amzn.to/3QNSw1m

Those were the initial ones I bought and have really liked them. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/od-EiMdzttq6ZGQ.html The fans are not too loud honestly. I’d say a bit quieter than my other movers. If you have other intelligent lights going or a band you won’t notice them. They are audible though while running. I would not want an army of these as my main key light but people use stuff with fans all the time. It’s really about do you want a few movers/zooms that have VW.

Na. If you have other movers then you won’t notice. We don’t in our room at least. I’d say they are pretty normal for a mover.

Also - curious why you say you’ve been wanting something like that forever? There’s a handful of products like this out there “Chauvet R2X, Martin MH6, ADJ focus wash 400”. Sure - they are more than $400 a unit but you’re also paying for quality. These Amazon units might die quicker and end up getting replaced vs the units mentioned above probably wouldn’t…when it comes to ministry - everyone always recommends to wait till you have funds for the right gear for the application needed - recommending a product like in this video is not a good idea..

@@User-cl8mn CRI is a good question. I don’t have a spectrometer to measure that. Simply put most churches cannot afford $2000 per light. I’ve used them for two months and they’ve looked good on camera. I totally get what you are saying, but a lot of people are going out and getting rgbw lights thinking it will work well for front light. But, if you have the budget the chauvet and Martin lights are GREAT options.

@@RylandRussell you need a light meter to really see the values like a sekonic C800 or similar. Idk about you but you can buy those high end units used or new for around 1300/1400. I think the idea is, if churches can today afford a 400 light - it’s best that They wait for funds. Great example, if a church can afford an avantis, can afford a hazer like radiance or alike, can afford a bunch of 200 stage movers, then yeah they can afford buying the right light for key light. Sure, they might have to wait from a financial perspective but it’s worth it when it’s doing it the right way and their product isn’t going to die quicker like cheaper units. A lot of churches out there mid/small size end up spending a few thousand on audio and video - lighting is never done the right way because they think “oh I can just buy some cheap Amazon lights” when in reality (especially for key light) lighting is very very important. Without a sound system you’d be able to listen to someone preach (they’d have to speak up) but with no light whatsoever - the entire room would be dark. Lighting is extremely important and churches do no understand that. And Videos like this hurt that concept. You have a radiance hazer that currently goes for 1400ish. Yet you don’t spend the correct money doing your key light that’s more important than haze.

@@User-cl8mn we have 20 source 4 jr ellipsoidals. I wouldn’t build a whole rig of these for front light, but to have a few movers to light different spots on the stage for things that come up has been super nice. I understand your points and hear what you are saying. Boulder says CRI of 94 on these fyi. So not amazing but not too shabby.

@@RylandRussell well I think that’s important to mention - correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t recall you saying that in the video. Having a main key light with maybe 2 of these to supplement is a lot different than saying “hey you should use these as your main key light”…pretty sure the video was at least to the average user making it seem like you were recommending these as the only lights needed for key light, if that wasn’t stated in the video (which I don’t think it was) I think adding an update or note would be very useful to those churches who have no idea what they are doing..I’d be curious if what they say about the CRI is accurate as most companies like to increase those numbers. What’s their TM-30 values? In a world of LED, TM-30 is starting to become much more important that CRI.

Also thinking about getting some of the 19x15 RGBWs for some color/back lights. do you have any experience with Sheds? for the RGBW lights they seem to be $50 cheaper per light which would net me an extra one but if the quality is poo then would probably stick with the boulder you had in a video before the VW ones.
