Great comparison. To me, the all weather option makes it worth the price. I live in the Southern US and the most miserable days and nights are the hot, rainy ones.

I actually do use the thermostat feature on mine. i have to make sure my front windows are open slightly so it can breath. I can also look out and see if it's getting hot in my van.

I feel like paying $200 more for just getting the fancy lid is ridiculous, especially since its all plastic and tons of complaints about the opening mechanism breaking. Unfortunately, it's the only option for vent fan with built in rain protection. Other companies need to step up!

The starvent 14x14 with a remote, rain sensor , dual arms for the lid and smoked lid looks to be a great option. I'm on amazon here in Canada and can only wish to see the low prices you can find vent fans for in the U.S. I wonder if there are parts available for these starvents. It has a fair price to it in comparison to the brand name units and looks to use a good motor but time would tell. Likely the 11 inch would perform well in a ram promaster high roof cargo van but would have to go with the 14 to get the added options. Which roof fan is quieter? And is the max air quieter than the fantastic fan? And lastly... Is the Three speed fan louder than the ten speed fan? Thank you thank you.

IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO COMPARE A 14" TO AN 11" -- TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TYPE VEHICLES WILL BE USING. COMPARE APPLES & APPLES AND THEN DO A VID
