Budget Zwift Setup | Tacx Smart Trainer

The idea behind this video was to see if I could make a relatively cheap but decent/reliable setup. I have used this setup for quite a few years now and it has been brilliant in all fairness, with very minimal issues. (Mainly poor connection issues, not the trainer).
The Tacx Bushido is a great bit of kit and can be found on second hand selling sites for a lot less now so it's now even cheaper to get a good cheap setup going ready for those cold winter months. (Unfortunately they no longer make the Bushido anymore but I'll link the best new Tacx alternative).

Thanks for the vid, why do you need a different tyre ?

It’s not vital but it’s to do with heat build up. There rated at a higher temp as it can build up a lot of heat from the roller. Also if you use a used road tyre it could have debris or small stones in that could damage the roller.

Can i use my mountain bike for this trainer, im intrested in this model just not sure if its possible tho

You can use mountain bikes on these model but depends on you axle width. Here’s a link for the newer version which should help as they no longer make the model I reviewed. www.garmin.com/en-GB/p/690890#inTheBox

@@thebeardedcyclist3814 i came in contact with someone who is selling this model second hand and he said i had to get this axle convertor that would work with my bike, it does cost alot for a small piece of metal, but after doing more research i saw people saying your mountain bike tyre wear will increase while using the trainer so i would not want to use my mtb on this, but thanks for the feedback
