Take the rear bumper off too. On the front either fill in the holes and add the blinkers back , or make a custom bumper pulled close to the body, with the blinker lights back for safety purposes.

Looks a lot better bumper-less. I'd just look into finding a way to fill the holes left in the valence. I honestly think the new steelies would work pretty well with that truck. I'd consider going with them if the tires were easier or cheaper to source than the original size tires.

The truck will be a great daily-driver, I wish I had one like it! The only thing I'd do is see if I could make it 4-wheel drive. looking good I remember when my parents had a VW rabbit that color back in the day and it was brand new the rims look wider than the stock ones but don't like the hubcaps would look good with the stock center caps from the truck and inside looks good but you can put seat covers on it and paint the carpet with carpet dye paint to change it up really like these kind of builds that's how I always did it buy it cheap and fix her up.

New dash looks awsome , find a cover to help keep it from cracking, awsome job on the seat and getting the carpet cleaned up, should try and find some Blue Rabbit floor mats that would set off the interior for sure . One thing that puzzles me is i wonder if the steering wheel is rare . I had a 79 rabbit in this color combo but it had a black steering wheel .

I think that the interior came out just fine. It is nice when things aren't all torn up, so what you did was worth doing. It is not a restoration, so some honest wear and signs of use are completely acceptable. It is clean enough for the Boss (AKA wife) to ride in in her good clothes, now. Personally, I would put cloth covers on both seats, first to preserve them and, most importantly, who likes sitting on a vinyl seat that has been sitting in the hot sun or in the cold overnight? I would also condition and UV protect that "new" dash if you haven't already done so. Good job.

Rims " hubcaps " look good spray 9 is the best for degreasing anything with and it's safe to use on alot of things taken an old tire spray it with spray 9 let it sit then take a brush to the tire and rinse you will be shocked at how well it works 20 years of detailing experience. Oven cleaner works well on heavy engine grease as well as spray 9

You're going to need a bumper (unless the truck develops its own defense shield) & front turn signals. Just so oncoming traffic doesn't have to guess at which way you're going to turn. Just an idea. The seats & carpet look o.k., & probably smell worlds better. And finally, I think the original wheels would look better once their paint has been freshened.

Keep the bumper off. Back in the early eighties we students filled out our wheelarches with bigger steel wheels fitted with wider tyres. Massively cheaper than alloys. I had a mk1 Golf (Rabbit) which originally had 145/13 tyres on it. Then I found that 175/70 tyres went on the same rim. They looked chunky!
