For an enemy of Filipino Martial Arts. Almost every offense of the opponent is bound to be countered with severity. Thats how scary and efficient this style is. It almost always end up as "Self Defense" for the one who's just waiting for his/her opponent's move before reacting. Good thing about it is that they are not labelled as the aggressor most of the time and it is also part of FMA Discipline. I'm a proud Filipino and a Practitioner of FMA. ❤

That's why it is improtant to practice backwards movement while shooting forwards. We start at five feet from the target and on the buzzer back peddle as fast as possible to the ten foot mark and rapid fire center mass twice, back peddle again and repeat, so on so forth every five feet until your weapon locks open. Adding in backwards movement with cutting angles is next level. I fairly recently started working on moving up and down stairs forward and rearward as well to keep on target and moving to keep myself out of mortal danger.

Good tip and technique. You should treat every limb coming at you whether it has a weapon in it or not in this way if possible. Always look to destroy or eliminate the weapon instead of blocking it Unless that's your only option. Blocking is OK in practice To give you the sense of control And to learn to flow with your opponent, But reality says to get rid of it.
